And a big picture of what appears to be Iain Dowie in the stand....if they were looking to break the opposition down, just hire him as manager and watch the other team laugh themselves into a coma. Should be easy enough to score then.

That's not what he said though.

He says he wants to take his players into the environment that the marines are in when they prepare to go to somewhere like Helmand, and it's a perfectly sensible comment. If they're put through the preparation for the levels of stress and endurance required for being in a war zone then when they're on the pitch for games there shouldn't be anything that fazes them.

Should we be worried that they train the marines for warfare in places like Afghanistan by sending them to Arbroath? I've seen lots of desert scenes on the news for these wars, Scotland doesn't seem the right place to prepare.

Two more PRo Phil "away with the fairies" Brown. Still unable to see what a clueless "Sam Allerdyce" clone he was and will always be. Obviously he works better at the time when Big Sam is unemployed and able to pull his strings .(eg Both the Tigers and Preston had more impact under Brownie when Sam was free)

Well, this is Phil's big chance at a second coming. The odds are that he will bring Preston back at their first attempt so be prepared for him singing at the end of this coming season and swaggering on to the KC the season after to receive the plaudits from his adoring fans and the raspberries from those who can't stand the bloke. Back it in though, he'll be lovin' every nanosecond of it!

I'm sure most of us would agree with that, but a bit of adverse mocking now and again doesn't do any harm.

I personally think had we never sacked him we would still be in the Premier League, but that's football I'm afraid. The vast majority of us hope he can get back in the Championship with PNE - good luck to him

i hope he brings them back up, and adds another promotion to his cv..then maybe it will also remind people of the great things he did at city and talk about them a bit more, instead of all the negative stuff..
