Good morning all I have spoken to Cologne and we have agreed that I will return to running the Prediction League for next season and he will stand in for me whenever I need a substitute. Many thanks to him for the excellent running over the last year - and the World Cup - although I think he has missed most of my correct predictions which seems to explain why I am bottom - or then again it could be that I am rubbish at predicting (as hoops so kindly pointed out) I will need to set up the threads over the next few weeks. Anyone interest in joining in please post on this thread so that I can add you to the spreadsheets that I use. I am going to refresh the rules and points system slightly to keep it fresh. Hornette or Baby Dan - could you please sticky this thread for a few weeks to help everyone see it and join up if they want to. In the past the league has been open to Hornets exclusively. I would like to propose allowing a few others to take part if they wish to - after all the more people who join the better the league is. I suggest that anyone from other clubs who have bothered to visit us and give views and comments fairly consistently in the last 3 to 6 months should be welcome - not least Canary Dave if he would like to but even SuperThick Hoops - he may enjoying a bit of Wumming but he ain't bad really. I will be guided by your opinions on this - when you indicate you would like to take part please state whether or not our "guests" should be welcome. Finally I cannot remember how to add links to other pages - North North Watford kindly helped me last time but he has not posted here for more than a year so unless he looks and lurks I will need someone else to explain links to me. It is not vitally important and I can run without them but let me know if you can help. Thanks one and all Leo
You can count me in as well Leo. I would also be in favour of non hornets taking part if they are regulars on our board. As for the links I'm afraid I have no idea (which was obvious from last year).
Count me in. Im happy to allow a select group of non-hornets to join. But not just anyone. Allow 'friends of the board' but not those who have done nothing but WUM and annoy. After all its meant to be a bit of light fun, we dont need morons ruining it for the regulars.
Thanks for stickying Dan. Totally agree with what you say - I will not open it to outsiders who have not come on here to chat with us over the last few months - so that is already a limited field. Also the nature of the WPL is just to make predictions - as the World Cup shows mine are as bad as anyone's We may well not have any "guests" wanting to predict but just in case. ..... In my rules thread I will reserve the right to "exclude" for naughty behaviour

Also count me in. I've no aversion to certain guests joining, but given the frequency that canary-dave visits, is he really a guest? This may make things too complicated for you Leo, but how about inviting fans of 2 other teams to take part and we could have an inter-club competition as well? I was thinking of a team that has just come down (for obvious reasons, Norwich) and a team that has just come up (maybe Brentford as they are relatively local). I do appreciate that this would have the possibility of opening it up to WUMs, so you may not want to follow that route.
Please put me down as 'in' as well. And thanks to both of you for your efforts in making this such a fun (if not successful on my part) pastime.
The rules will state that entries will be accepted at my sole discretion as organiser - and that I can kick out anyone at any time for any reason I choose - especially if so encouraged by my fellow hornets Ever heard the term "thin ice" hoopey? Bears are heavy. I have not heard a yes please - count me in so far I welcome all the genuine new entrants so far.
