I was a whiskey man when I drank. jack Daniels in my youth and then cognac and brandy, then nowt. Maybe at Christmas.
I can't drink much wine or beer anymore... white wine is the worst... gives me terrible leg pains at night and prevents me sleeping. Port and Sherry wines don't seem to affect me as badly- which is fortunate since I love tawny Port! ... No other alcohol seems to affect me... just wines and beer.
I drank a bottle of wine when I was 15 and I swear I wanted to die the next day, never drank more than one glass ever since. Anyone ever drink Pochin or ouzo, taking that drink **** too far imo Anything similar in the states?
Oh, I love wine... Chianti is my favourite... just as I got older- it started affecting me funny. When I was younger- not so much... Cheap wine will give you headaches the next day though... and being a cheapskate, most of what I drink is cheap... lol
then that bottle I drank must have been pure ****, I think i drank it out of a 1.5 litre coke bottle too A Connoisseur me
oh but i do find the americans like to find the local brews and my german overlords tell me that belgian beers are muck and full of chamicals compared to thier fine brews... however germans do tend to be over patriotic about hbeers etc.
Most of the way through a bottle of 7 year Havana Club at the moment great stuff for the price. When it comes to wine I mainly go French
doubt it... had a good meal.. very good in a new place in NY and I had a real nice dive type meal in a place called copper top. For example had a decent dinner in san diego in a place which was posh but it wasn't spectacular... had a very poor meal in a fashionable river side place in Richmond. I have have some seriously spectacular dinners in Germany.. but only in the south.
I've never liked German beer either... never seen the appeal of German beer. It tastes like North American beer- only with a pricier label.
I like a drop of Havana. (On a side note NEVER ask for a Bacardi in Cuba......as I once did..) As for wine, I'm not overly snobby about the country of origin, I usually just choose by the grape and my 2 favourites are Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon
depends..... the locals all have real local beers so for instance frieberger is "local" but a paulander is horse piss export. pilsner or hefeweizen etc etc... generally the "smaller" or i guess less massive exporting a beer is the better it is? generally if its not budweiser, heineken or such they are all prob good yeah?
