PUBLISHED 09:45 1st July 2014 by @QPRFC Have your say on our Nike kit design for the 2015/16 season … please log in to view this image AFTER unveiling the new 2014/15 QPR home, away and third kits at Nike’s Phenomenal House in May, the club is gearing now up for their eagerly-anticipated release in the QPR Superstore on Saturday 19th July. In preparation, the Superstore at Loftus Road will be closed from 9th–18th July, so that Nike can give it a full makeover and stock the shelves with the new kit and training wear. The ‘Loft Store’ on South Africa Road, as well as the QPR Online Superstore, will remain open during this period so you can still stock up on your summer essentials. While time constraints following the signing of the five-year partnership deal Nike meant the club was not able to influence the design of the 2014/15 kits, we do have control of the design for the following 2015/16 campaign and would really appreciate your feedback. The following short survey will remain live until Friday 11th July and your responses will be central in the club’s design brief to Nike. Thank you in advance for your time. I hope people are not too negative! Interesting to learn that we can't have Hoops due to a PL rule??!!
Done!! Hate the new kit! Since when did we wear stripes on our away kit? It's amateurish!!! As to the complete hoops, we should tell the PL to f**k off! THAT'S BEEN OUR KIT FOR YEARS!!!
The thing I don't get is why are we kneeling down to Nike in this situation? We are now a premier league club and there are probably several shirt makers who would love to get their logo on our shirt. With Nike, they seem to have this policy where the first season's shirt comes from one of their pre-made selection. Why do we so desperately need our shirt to be made by Nike that we would allow a shirt that is obviously at odds with the shirt that the vast majority were looking for? Why can't we use our position in the league to get a deal with a shirt maker who will do what WE want?
Anyone know why the ban on complete hoops is coming in? Aside from making numbers easier to read from a distance (which would be resolved by having referees and assistants with better eyesight who are fit enough to keep up with play) I can't think of a single reason.
The Premier League doesn't allow full hoops??? WTF!!! I haven't time to do the survey now - is there a reference to that rule in one of the survey questions? They must have snuck that in at the same time as the "players can't wear black football boots" rule!
What the hell is this about? The situation with kits is becoming ridiculous in this country. Are the referees blind? I know we'd like to think they are sometimes but are they not able to look at hoops? Are they not able to distinguish between a QPR kit and a Derby one? I wonder if there is a way to make a petition and try to counter this? QPR not being allowed hoops as long as they are in the EPL?!?!
I believe it states the numbers must be clear unless it's been changed, if we have thick hoops, we just need a gap in one blue hoop instead of a full on white patch. They must have had terrible feedback to get this out now.
WTF!!?? We are The Superhoops and the Premier League has banned hoops!!?? If true then this is something which the club need to fight tooth and nail! The hoops are a fundamental part of our identity as a club, and we have been wearing them as long as most of us have been going. Something needs to be done. How can we protest this!!??
They way I understand it also is that we might be able to have proper hoops if there is a backing to the number and name on the back. So, for example, the number 9 would have a 9 shaped blue backing around it. Maybe in the way that this kit number has a backing, but perhaps with a larger backing: please log in to view this image
Those numbers are terrible. You can't see them on TV. please log in to view this image I'd want this with the hoops moved down a few inches with a gap in one blue hoop. please log in to view this image
Looking at the two examples you've put up flyer just makes me realise how bad the thin hoops looked during our ill fated spell in the Premier League and the numbers do not read well at all. Looking at the black and red stripes and the dull white strip is a bit depressing isn't it?? What uninspiring kits...
The thickness of the hoops have match our performances directly. So that's us bottom next season then!
Well if the Premier League has it's way we'll never be allowed to wear hoops again anyway, either thick or thin!
This is what we could have, ignore the terrible numbering and it would be a gap rather than a patch. please log in to view this image
They are ****ing hideous!!! I hate them with a passion! The hoops are wrong the blue is wrong. It's the most dull **** shirt I can ever remember to have seen. It is worse than Chelsea's jeans version in the 90's ffs!!!! If it was up to me we should only use the white 3rd kit next season. Even the AC Milan away shirt is better than the home strip.
What I don't understand is if Nike only have 1 hoop design in their catalogue does it only come in blue/white and no other colour? If not why the hell didn't we get a red/black (dark grey if necessary) hoop 2nd shirt, why go for strips? Is it like the old 1920's Ford advert that you can have it any colour you want as long as it's black!!!
They have other colours but its so bad that I think the stripes are better even though again they are too thin. Thin hoops/stripes equals pub team, probably explains our performances in them too.
