Adam Lallana has just got his £25m move to Liverpool...

Lallana got 10 goals and 8 assists in all competitions last season in 42 games (http://www.transfermarkt.com/adam-lallana/leistungsdaten/spieler/43530/saison/2013)

Adam Johnson got 10 goals and 10 assists in all competitions last season in 45 games (http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/adam-johnson/leistungsdaten/spieler/31579/saison/2013)

Therefore in this ridiculous market has Adam Johnson really doubled in value?

Pardeaux recently came out and said:
"The fees being paid for players such as Luke Shaw and, it seems, Adam Lallana, illustrates an important point that supporters need to understand,” wrote Pardew in his column for the Independent on Sunday.

"Clubs like Newcastle get accused of not signing English players, but these are prices mid-table teams in the Premier League simply cannot afford, unlike Champions League clubs with their extra revenue.

"We recently enquired about an unproven player not in the side at one of our top clubs, and we were asked £14million. He will not be joining.

"Yet we can pick up players such as Yohan Cabaye, Mathieu Debuchy and Moussa Sissoko for reasonable fees, all of who have been starring for France at the World Cup."

    ---------------------
Might actually be the first bit of sense he's came out with in a while

Could be why any potential transfers for us are taking time, going for proven Prem players and when enquiring we are being quoted astronomical fees?

Billy Jones, Jordi Gomez and Costel Pantilimon could be very good business if what P45due has came out with is true

Players go for overpriced values these days, and it's only going to get worse. We're very lucky to have added 3 players who have improved us for £0.

They're paying over the odds for fashionable players. Well done to Southampton.

I am looking at this the other way.

We got a hell of a deal on AJ considering what the top teams have to shell out for the same types of England players.

Now if only he could force his way back into the England set up. Which I am afraid isn't all down to him, it needs for us as a team to get results and stay 7th-10th all season (or even higher).

Stats do only tell half a story of course, Lallana is a big influence on games and sees a lot more of the ball than AJ, but I get the point.

Southampton raking in £55million for the 2 is incredible business, I like Lallana but tht is juts stupid money, but it's nowhere near as ridiculous as what's been spent on Shaw, who for me was only good, not great consistently.

Paying for potential is one thing, paying £30 million up top with add ons is insanity.

The fees are ridiculous but it's nee good Parsnip whinging on about it.
Newcastle were one of the worst offenders under cock sucking 'Geordie Nation' Hall & that fat slug Shepherd.
Viana, £8m, Acuna, £8m, both were ****. Michael Owen, £18m & 120 grand a week to lay in bed for two years?
Nice ****ing gig if you can get it, didn't stop the little scouse **** ****ing off to Chester races every time there was a meeting on did it?

I mean let's face facts, the mags twist like **** about fat Mike being a greedy **** but he's got them on an even keel after Freddie left them in a **** load of debt.
They really ought to think themselves lucky, they could have done a Leeds.
To be fair to Parsnip, he's done a fairly good job considering what he's had to work with.

That said, any newspaper that employs him is not worth wiping your cock on after you've humped your lasses arse.

No way is Lallana worth £25m, I really enjoy watching him play, but £25m is too much to pay for him

I do think Shaw will turn into one of the best lb's in the world, but the £30m price tag will be a massive burden on his shoulders..

£6.25 million. Decent little nibble that.

Fancy Bournemouth via play-offs next season anyway, this can't harm!

    Aye, you'd think.

They are quite well off now anyway I believe, but that's a decent wedge to play with at that level.

    So

    Cesc Fabregas 30m
    Ander Herrera 29m
    Luke Shaw 27m
    Adam Lallana 25m
    Fernando 12m
    Jake Livermore 8m
    Robert Snodgrass 8m
    Kouyate 7m
    Rickie Lambert 4m
    Ayoze Perez 1.5m

That's £151.5m spent on 10 players on day one of the transfer window. <yikes>

Can't argue with what the mags have turned up in France, even if the much-lauded Tiote and Ben Arfa have become **** recently. And at these prices it's no wonder that most teams are looking elsewhere. The England team are getting knackered because the rich clubs are stockpiling talent in their reserves.

Liverpool have got themselves a cracking player, no doubt about that.

I'm sure they'll have all kinds of **** songs for him with a name like Lallana, the 'Kop faithful' will be penning them as we speak.

Doubt very much we'll be hearing the Suarez one again mind!
