Barcelona signing playbook: 1. player is banned. delay appeal process. it reduces player value. 2. get player to apologize as it negates any appeal in theory. 3. Get player to say he wants to leave england (they robbed this from real) LFC fans stand ready, the **** will do this within the next 2 weeks whic his traitorous and scummy given what he's been back on. 4. Barca will bid a low ball price. 5. Constant running of stories and pressure up to august. 6. LFc accept <50mil 7. We suddenly hear change of heart and appeal post sale and barca get ban reduced to allow him to play This is why IMO; a) LFC should put gag order on player on condition of paying suspended player any wages at all b) LFC should contact real immediately to drum up competition c) LFC should appeal this ban or prevent any appeal or change from occuring via FIFA. Its uraguays right but if they have not done by now why not? I would refuse to do any discussions until Uruguay lodge an appeal. Force suarez hand especially if he does point 3 above. d) LFC should stick firmly to their asking price no matter what... remember we are in for 23mil not 50mil. thats what we spent on him and we can always cut his wages for period he took himself out.
all good points mito, how many of them can we do legally though? i didn't think we had any say in appeal process, which is a farce considering we have been punished the worst out of it. any gag order would involve him signing a document wouldnt it? so unlikely to happen sadly. if Barca can get his ban reduced through FIFA, just goes to show what a ****ing farce this whole thing has been, so if he stays with us we have to put up with the full ban then. ****S the lot of them
He doesn't know what form any deal with Barca will be yet, but he says we will not sell him on the cheap. As has been speculated upon, the 'apology' was pushed hard by the Spaniards.
I don't think the ban affects things much. I certainly don't think Suarez did it on purpose, why throw away his world cup for the possibility of helping a move when the new contract already made provisions for that. Since Suarez is banned anyway it's like last season, do what LFC wants, you won't be playing for us anyway so any strop will only hurt himself.
The ban, the paper stories and the tapping up all mean nothing if the club just keep refusing offers until they receive a fair amount or the buy out clause is met. We showed last year that no matter how whiny Suarez gets we're not willing to let him go for less than he's worth, don't see one more count of biting on top of the previous cases of racism and biting making much difference. Worst case (or best case depending on your perspective) Barcelona don't make a good enough offer and we're forced to keep him.
Brendan Rodgers believes new signing Adam Lallana will prove a perfect fit into his Liverpool squad. The Reds swooped to secure the services of the 26-year-old today as he arrived from Southampton to become the club's second summer acquisition. Lallana, who has just returned from the World Cup finals with England, has excelled in the Barclays Premier League with the Saints over the past two seasons - and Rodgers is confident he'll feel right at home at Anfield. "We are delighted to have secured the services of one of the Premier League's top talents in signing Adam Lallana," the boss told Liverpoolfc.com at Melwood. "What is apparent about Adam is that his character is on a par with his talent. "He is an exceptional young man and someone who has a love for the game - and, most importantly, a desire to progress and improve. "Adam is motivated by being the best he can be and being part of something special. We believe he fits right in with what we are trying to do at Liverpool. "We have seen, over the past two seasons in the Barclays Premier League, he has a tactical awareness to adapt to what is required of him and to put the team above his personal ambitions. "He has leadership skills and personal qualities that make him a special commodity and I am delighted we have acted decisively to make sure he is wearing a Liverpool shirt next season. "Adam is aware there will be great competition for places at this club and he is hungry to improve further. We are confident he will fit perfectly with the culture we have at Liverpool. "I'm excited about working with Adam and helping him to progress even further."

I'm quite humbled and I just can't wait to get started," Lallana told LiverpoolFC.com "Hopefully I can settle in quickly, and I will give it my best throughout the whole time I'm here. I hope I can add something to the team and hopefully we can win trophies while I'm here, because that's why I'm here - for success."
Some more Can confirmation: Lallana is Brendan Rodgers’ third signing of the summer following to Anfield Saints team-mate Rickie Lambert and Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Emre Can, whose move from Germany will be ratified on Tuesday with the official opening of the transfer window for registrations.
