The vile racist 'apologised' under pressure from Barcelona it seems. So not sincere. Regrets the bite which was caused by the collision? What the f**k was that? Whoever wrote this must have some weird understanding of the English language and must have legalese up his arse. This clearly is an apology which is not meant to be read as an apology.

weararedbonnet if I am not mistaken didn't some fans stab and throw a palace fan under a bus? I fail to see how that is linked to other United supporters even though it was united supporters that did this. Are you too young to remember United fan troubles of earlier decades? Eat a history book lad, unfortunately I had to see your hate in a quote. You are are a disgusting little man, certainly a little man, small man, small mentality, hate filled.

Scum are scum, nothing to do with the clubs and the actual supporters, keep your scummy hate to yourself.

Also it's pathetic to try differentiate yourself from your countrymen by way of football as if somehow it is not a problem with society in general, but that's a topic that's way over your head lad.

But our clubs would not have been penalised as a whole for several years had it not been for Heysel. Maybe a club side would have been banned for a year, but not a whole association.

Why should a whole association have to suffer for one club's appalling violence?

United weren't particularly bad in Europe either. Spurs, Rangers, Leeds worse

Sisu, yet again you are talking nonsense, and missing the facts.

At Heysal, a wall collapsed, with the following outcome

1 39 fans mostly Juvenus fans were killed, yes, Sisu, THIRTY NINE KILLED.
    2. 14 Liverpool fans were convicted of manslaughter
    3. An indefinite ban was issued on ALL British clubs in Europe.
    4. Liverpool's ban to have a further 3 years added.

Your problem is Sisu, that just like Benitez, you ignore the fackts.

It was the direct result of that tragedy that led to other clubs being banned from Europe, yet you come up with the usual nonsense to deviate from the truth. and yes, I really do despise Liverpool. And can you blame me for that after what your fans did in Heysal?

Yet again, always the victim, never to blame

And the reason for that "Apology" came 10 years later. I would hardly consider it sincere

In 1989, after a five-month trial in Brussels, 14 of the 26 Liverpool supporters who stood trial were found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and given a three-year prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, and each ended up serving about a year in total in behind bars. The remaining ten defendants were acquitted of manslaughter, but some had their £2,000 bail money confiscated, having been absent for part of the trial. And civil damages estimated at more than £5million were provisionally awarded to families of the Heysel victims against the convicted fans and the BFU.
But you never hear of this because the tragedy is taboo. It was only brought into the open when Liverpool and Juventus were drawn together in the Champions League quarter-final in 2005, at which point the Merseyside club, after consultation with their Italian counterparts, announced it would be a game of “friendship”. Before the first leg at Anfield, Liverpool supporters held up a mosaic to form the word “amicizia”. Some of the visiting Juventus fans applauded. Most, it seemed, turned their backs in disgust. And while the rejection of the olive branch met with a little consternation on Merseyside, Liverpool’s supporters know all too well about the type of apology that comes too late, brought by events, to sound truly sincere.
