I dont think Taylor is that good, If he was he would have been playing regularly tlast season and sharing the position with BD. If BD goes we are settling for second best. Not good enough.
agree with this trunds. Davies has more about him than tailor and would like to keep the both. To sell Davies to a rival is madness when the football world has a shortage of available quality LB's that we will have to find if we sell him.
I don't class them as one of the really big teams and have not for a number of years. They are certainly a club we can match....Man utd,man city, chelsea, liverpool and arsenal are what i consider big clubs... Spurs, everton, the toon are a step below and definitely catchable...
But thats why Spurs have no patience with their recent managers .'it's top 4 or out you go ,so maybe some don't consider them a "big " club I'd say their higher up the ladder than Everton in purchasing power and fan base imo
"Spurs, everton, the toon are a step below and definitely catchable... " I believe in aspiring to be the best we can but you do realise that Everton finished 5th on 72 points and Tottenham 6th on 69? We finished 12th on 42. Need to up our game to make up almost 30 points don't you think? Using a criteria of history, fanbase, ground size and potential, if you think Spurs, Toon and Everton aren't 'big clubs' I'll have what you're drinking.
Yes i know but im saying that those teams a step below the real big teams are the ones we must aim for and there is a better chance of achieving that than what we have with ever catching the mega clubs...
Looks like Ben might be going after the capture of Kingsley. I just hope to God Gylfi is part of a deal here for Ben. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28099316
Im not that bothered about gylfi myself, Clubs tend to drop him after a few games or move him on. I dont see anything special about him at all...
Dai, I tend to agree I like Siggy but would prefer to keep Michu. What worries me is that are we taking second best again. In selling ben and going for cheap options.
I still can't get my head around this derisory offer of £8 million. That's £25 million less than Shaw's valuation!! How can that be justified? If I can draw the comparison then surely our board also must have. Isn't someone there asking the same question? Okay, United might have paid over the odds for Shaw but surely Ben must be valued somewhere in the region of £12/15 million even so. I can only think that Gylfi must figure in this equation; that Spurs will let us have him on the cheap as a sweetener. Whatever, for me, Ben is being undervalued (in comparison) to the tune of several million pounds and I would be astonished if Jenkins goes ahead at this figure.
Agree Ivor, while it looks likely, I'll be very surprised if the deal isn't above the £12million mark.
Catchable in what respect. There is a huge gulf in terms of club size, budget, following, ground capacity etc. We may get around Newcastle on points but tbats about it.
I can see where Dai is comming from, whilst I dont believe we are rivals. I dont want our best players going to anyone who could affect where we end up in the league. If i had my way I would be selling all our players abroad.
what have spurs done that makes them better than us this last decade. If we are an ambitious club and i think we are then spurs is not that far away that we cant catch them. the saints nearly did it...and so can we.
I've just been on The Spurs' Forum, and no mention of a possible Ben Davies purchase. If this were a serious consideration it seems odd that it's not being discussed there.
I did see a small entrance about Davies on their board but not much, some say he is a good young prospect and some would rather someone else....it's the same as every board really where some are for and some against on any player...
When a big club spends stupidly , why do smaller clubs use it as a benchmark...weirdiest thing really.Davies may or may not be worth 8 million but I see him losing value as he moves on .
Now spurs are suppose to be saying that they are only tracking Davies. Take no bloody notice of anything is my advice and see who reports back for training next week or the week after. Im expecting like it has been other seasons and everyone will turn up for training unless the clubs official web site says anything and so far its all about players joining and not leaving....
