Hope it's different these days. Used to be the 'who you know' type of setup. Yes, I speak from experience.

    Good luck to them. <ok>

Sad to hear. It's holding Welsh football back imo. Some decent kids just give up. Mine did.

Nepotism exists in most spheres of life and football is no exception , look how many "talented " footballers have famous Dads, it just using your connection and having the opportunity to be coached ,it's still down to the individual to prove himself but sometimes a blind eye can be turned in respect of a players ability due to that connection .I can't say it's prevalent within the club but there is one lad who's in the Academy who has an ex player as a father , thats not to say he's no good, thats not for me to comment . I'm not on the coaching staff but I have my opinion .Good luck to anyone who has a chance but it does make you think whether he / they would have been selected without the connection.

I remember my kid being ousted from his position many many years ago in favour of a kid who's dad was 'connected' at the Club and the kid had never played in that position before. Ever. He gave up not long after he was so despondent. I'd be the first to admit if it was on ability because like most dads I was his biggest critic - but it wasn't. Pure nepotism.
