Considered putting Caulker on the list but ultimately I think that is unlikely with some big clubs interested.

    As of today I reckon we need;

GK - I believe Vorm will go and Fabianski is injury prone
RB - Ideally to replace Tiendalli
CB - More of a want than need. Problem is I think 4 CBs are enough. If Ash or Chico leaves the decision is made for us. If not I would reluctantly let Bartley go. He's looked good when he has played but ultimately has proved injury prone. That might change but the odds are against it.
DM - Canas is most likely off so we need another DM to compete with and sometimes pair up with Leon.
AM - With Pozuelo and Michu going I feel we need a genuine AM to compete with Pablo (Don't see Gomis playing there, I am yet to see Ki score or create a goal in a Swansea shirt so....)
WGR - I would favour a genuine left winger (by that I mean left footed) but would consider someone like Jefferson Montero a welcome addition.
ST - Purely as 3rd choice. If Emnes deal doesn't come off I'd try and land a youngster from a top club on loan.

We'll possibly need a LB if Ben Davies leaves.
Wouldn't be against going with Taylor as 1st choice and signing a youngster like Kingsley as cover....could be that our scouts have got it wrong on Kingsley. If so, we always have Jazz and Tiendalli (if he stays) who can do a job there....or we could use the loan system.

It's meant to generate discussion about how we would like to see the squad take shape. Perhaps we won't sell anyone but we can't ignore the speculation concerning who might leave when trying to think about who we might need.

I do a thread like this every year and update as we go along so we can see how much we have spent and where the holes are.

    Re: Gomis
The point is, he wasn't a free. If you don't like the speculation regarding how much he has cost us blame the club.
The estimates discussed though do make sense given the info we do know (him turning down the move to us last year in order to make some money on the free....What his agent was stating that Gomis required, £100k per week.....The clubs who were tracking him for a long time who are bigger clubs than us and pay those sorts of wages for new star striker signings, ie. Newcastle....The many, many press reports stating that Newcastle had offered him £75k a week as an opening bid)....starts to build a picture don't you think?
All I know is that I am not including him as a "free". In my mind he is the best paid player we have ever had by a distance and I believe anyone who thinks otherwise is being naive.
    Just my opinion.

An interesting thread which can be referred as the transfer window progresses, just go back 3 years to see the amount of old and new faces who've moved in and out and all the time the squad has improved .

Never said Gomis was a free in the truest sense, of course he isn't. But we can speculate as much as we like we don't know. Jenkins has stated in the past that he's wary of having big earners that far exceed others' wages - and for good reason. But I agree it's not unreasonable to factor in the signing on fee even if the actually money paid out by the club (because he was on a free in the truest sense) makes little difference to the Club.

I'm not looking to 'blame' anyone for our lack of knowledge on the issue, as its up to the parties concerned. If they don't want to spill the beans they don't have to.

No issue with the thread at all as far as it goes because fans love speculating (let's be honest that's all it is) but I still don't understand how anyone can say "likely to go" or "likely to stay" because you simply can't anticipate transfers. They often happen out of the blue, whilst players who were said to have been having medicals elsewhere turn out to not be going anywhere. Pratley/Forest anyone? I maintain that the only one you could probably say is a definite stay is Leon.

It's a combination of excitement and worry at this time of the year and speculation is all part of that I guess.

This thread is for those that want to join in the "fun" ;) And most importantly to keep the OP updated as we go along.

That is one thing i never do...worry about football and who comes and who goes....I could not careless to be honest as what will be will be and we will still have a team ready for the new season. whether we will be any good then again i don't know but i hope we do ok and if we don't then we don't and i still wont lose any sleep over it....My philosophy is that if i have no control over something then i have no worries. I have control of my own actions and i have chosen not to put a single penny into the club ever again. What power i have it feels great <laugh>

Swansea City sign Falkirk defender Stephen Kingsley
Swansea City have signed teenager Stephen Kingsley from Falkirk.

The 19-year-old left back completed his medical at the Liberty Stadium on Monday and has signed a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

Kingsley, who has represented Scotland at Under-18 and Under-19 level, made more than 100 appearances for the Scottish Championship club.

He is Swans boss Garry Monk's third summer signing after goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski and striker Bafetimbi Gomis.

Kingsley, who was named in last season's Scottish Professional Football League Championship team of the year, joins former team mate Jay Fulton at Swansea.

On Monday, midfielder Fulton signed a new four-year deal with the Swans.

He said: "I'm absolutely delighted. Everything has happened pretty quickly but I didn't need any persuading to sign and I'm really looking forward to the future.

"Garry [Monk] has been brilliant. He's put a lot of confidence in me and made me feel part of the squad and hopefully I can continue to progress under him."

    or Taylor?
    We'll see.
The lad has good experience for one so young and, by getting selected for the division team, achieved everything he could at that level.
    Hope he makes it.
