What, are you mad! When Gazza came in to replace Artur we went from being the 2nd best defence in W Europe to fairly average. Looking at the goals conceded against attempts ON TARGET he saved very little. It almost seemed to be, get a shot on target and you will score. I can't remember a good save he made.
Also how much more difficult will it be to get quality finds when they find out everybody is going World Cup star "I am really looking forward to be playing with Lambert" les "actually he's gone to Liverpool" World Cup star "ahhhh! Well at least Lallana is here" Les "sorry he's gone to l'pool too!" World Cup star "not so good but at least you have an excellent defence in Louvren and Shaw" Les "I need to tell you something after you have signed" World Cup star "tell me Morgan will still be here" Les " just sign the ****ing contract!!!!!"
Well yeah, but keepers generally don't tend to be injured much. If Boruc stays fit for a a whole season, like about 90% of other EPL keepers does, we should have no problem at all.
If we end up losing both Lovren and Shaw, I want two goalkeepers (and play them both in the same game). I am amazed that anyone questions our need for another keeper.
Unfortunately I think Lovren and MS will leave as well so need serious reinforcements in teh squad. Not necessarily my first choice pics but I think we'll sign something along the lines of: Marshall, Van Dijk, Caulker, Assou Ekotto, Clasie, Tadic, Pelle and Guidetti
There are much better players out there that we could attract than assou ekotto. Surely out brilliant scouting system aren't going to be considering him.
Except Borucs was out on two seperate and missed quite a few games. I dont want Gazza anywhere near a goal on match day. Unless hes in a team that we are playing against. I also didnt really rate Borucs near the end
We need another keeper. If only due to the interview that Boruc gave and when asked about getting the no.1 jersey back, he said "easy"... or similar.
I agree with you 100% but I also think that left back , given Targett's potential, is a position where they might turn to an available, affordable, experienced interantional left back to provide solidity/experienced back up for a season. Would personally far prefer us to get in a Willems type and have a similar battle for left back as we had for right back this season, with two young promising players pushing each other. Trying to get a new left back to gel with potentially a new goalkeeper and a new centre back (possible 2) is not going to be easy come what may. We will need a big start to the season from Wanyama.
Yes, this. I haven't seen him play, but Timotei is supposed to be good too. I've seen Jetro Willems a couple of times and he was very good, though I've heard that he also has his weaknesses. Would make a good battle for the LB berth though - a la Clyne and Chambers.
