    Anyone got any recommendations?

My lad bought me Running With The Firm for my birthday. It's a true account of undercover Old Bill infiltrating the Millwall Bushwackers.

The film ID was written by the same ex copper and was based on his experiences.

He's now decided, after 20 years, to tell the full story as it was.

I've read some proper boring old **** with regards to books based on football but I'm finding this an interesting read.

The worst one was a book her indoors bought me last year, can't even remember what it was called but it was as dull as ditch water.

I'll see if I can dig it out and warn you off.

I'll read anything football related usually, mainly autobiographies but the book I'm reading now is a bit different.

    It's well worth a read.

It's a real insight into 1980's hooliganism but from a different perspective.

I've read numerous books by ex hooligans, including City Psychos and for me they're all a bit samey.

This is fairly unique in its content.

I know you said something different to autobiographies, but Pirlo's new book is supposed to be brilliant.

Get this, it's got absolutely nothing to do with football, but I've still got about 3,000 copies to shift. <whistle>

Read: Simon Kuper's Football Against the Enemy. Terrific observation of what football means in different countries.

Don't read: Kenny Dalglish's autobiography. Literally the most boring experience of my whole life - and that's coming from someone who's done jury duty.

Tony Adams's was good on the alcoholism. I thought the football stuff was nothing unusual.

I bought that and never read it. I'm going to take it down off the shelf.
