Hull-bound: Thomas Ince will make the switch to the KC Stadium Thomas Ince is signing for Steve Bruce’s ambitious Hull City today - and earning old club Blackpool a windfall. The England under-21 cap has agreed a deal with the Tigers to join their squad and become their latest eye-catching capture. Ince had met Inter Milan and been courted by other cubs at the end of his contract - and following a loan spell at Crystal Palace. But now the one-time Liverpool kid has opted to stay in the Premier League and with the added incentive of European football. The news will be a relief to Blackpool who will get an offer from Hull to avoid a tribunal - at a time when they faced a pittance if he went abroad.
The Daily Mail are also now reporting that Ince has agreed to sign with us. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...-Bruce-continues-strengthen-Tigers-squad.html Hull City hope to take a step closer to signing Tom Ince. The 22-year-old has agreed a contract with Hull and is poised to sign. The fee will be determined by a tribunal and former club Blackpool will ask for £8m based on the fact that Crystal Palace paid £1.5m for a five month loan from January.
No probably not wrong. One would assume that the mirror found out first and then the Mail checked their contacts.
I would rather nice than snotarse and one or the other. We have enough left footers to play the roles these toe can play; Brady, Aluko, Boyd, Quinn already with potentially snotarse and nice to join with Elmo being the only right footer. Good players are good players and the more the merrier but I believe we do need some balance and if anything should happen to Elmo then we're completely one dimensional down the right flank. The fee should also be nothing like £8m, compensation fees are a pittance and we're not going to tag along a party line and let ourselves get fleeced solely on the basis palace were desperate enough to spend a ridiculous amount on a 6 month loan fee in a **** or bust January window for them. I'd hope it'd be something along the lines of 2/300k.
Ince is a left footer and was originally a left winger but has probably been used more at wide right at Blackpool.
Caption under the first photo: "On the move: Tom Ince is set to sing for Hull City" Maybe he's just coming to replace Steve Jordan?
I'd guess that if we played Ince LM Brady would drop to LB in a back 4 or LWB in a back 3/5, I can't help but feel that this wastes some of Brady's brilliant talent but what an exciting attacking force we could have next season. Add to that a top CB pairing or trio in Davies and Chezzy/Dawson then a great keeper in Greegsy, we really could have a strong season.
Full backs still look painfully weak and we're still very light in central midfield. And injury to any of Huddlestone, Livermore or Meyler and we'll be struggling big time.
We might see Brady pushed into more of a CAM role, to save us having to shell out for another Koren type player. He certainly has the attributes and would provide great competition to Aluko.
