Well Schumacher was right about the 4th row, he has saved an extra set of options for the race, so he can make an improvement, thought Alonso would be right at the sharp end, pipped by his arch rival Hamilton, oh how the start tomorrow is going to be amazing between them two, HAM vs ALO!!!

Well, well, well... seems the mapping ban didn't do too much to the order. Can't wait to see the fireworks on 2nd row with Lewis and Alonso, both trying to make ground.

4 tenths off pole is not bad and considering this is the first stage of this ban, I think we can expect it to come down hopefully.

And Hamilton and Alonso for me have enough pace to beat Red Bull tomorrow in the race. Not just battle it out for P3 but for the win.

Not good enough for Button though... P6 is not where he needed to be....

Only problem with those 4 tenths is that Seb was improving by another 2-4 tenths on the lap he abondoned towards the end.

I'm thinking it's between Hamilton and Vettel tomorrow. Hopefully Webber will hold off Lewis and Fernando at the start to give Seb some breathing space.

lol i knew that, I meant differences between the two in the picture vs the two FW's in Canada.

On the topic of qualifying, I'm a little disappointed to see a Red Bull front row, but I have to admit Vettel's lap was very good and he thoroughly deserved pole. I think we should see the ban having more of an effect in Silverstone, hopefully.

I like how Alonso in his post qualifying interview say that the podium is the target before immediately talking about Hamilton being aggressive. Brilliant mind games!

I would love to see what happens if Alonso get's a good start - which has been happening ever since Alonso got a new clutch in Spain, so it's not unlikely to imagine Alonso and Hamilton side by side in turn 1. If this is the case, I would expect contact between them.

so the top5 qualifiers for this race are the same as last year.

anyway, lewis starts on the better side,it'll give him a great chance to get passed webber on the inside, then we'll see what happens.jenson has to be careful he's not done by rosberg coz thatll only hold him up.
i hope vettels car doesnt last the entire race.

Vettel and Webber both sounded very dismissive of any question over the effects on them of running the same engine mapping for qualifying and the race, repeatedly telling the press that it was them, other teams, less technically aware members of their own team, etc., who expected a difference or chattered about a negative effect. I wouldn't expect the otherwise highly reliable RB7 to fail after that press conference but it always possible.

to be fair we all knew the ebd would make no difference to the top positions at Valencia, it pretty much has red-bull written all over it, Silverstone, spa, hock will be a different story, the thing is Vettel knows he just has to pick up top 5's on his weak circuits, I can't see RBR falling back as quickly as Brawn did, unless everyone cracks the flexi-wing.

Genji can you post the Pic that shows the Positions, Lap Time and the all important sector times.

I want to see where Webber and Hamilton and Alonso were losing out to Sebastian.

    Cheers

Sportydan's link shows a bit more detail and compares best sector times ('ultimate' lap), not just the sector times of their best laps.
