Gerrard's goal was brilliant, was in my local..went nuts. Also his cracker inthe 2006 cup final, my wife had handed me my son (3 weeks old at the time) in an attempt to stop me shouting abuse at the TV. Whem Gerrard scored, i placed him asleep on the sofa..tip toed out the room..gentle walk along the hallway....sprint through the kitchen, into the garden...Screamed me head off, let several rude words go..and then strolled back into the front room, picked my lad up and carried on watching the game..my wife came in to have a go..i raised my finger to my lips, pointed at my son ""shhh, he's asleep!!"
1) gerrard v olympiakos: brilliant goal in such a crucial game 2)terry mcdermott v B munchengladbach : ditto the above 3)kenny v bruge 1978 final :ditto the above and any goal we score against Manure!!!! I have a couple of dvd's showing Liverpool goals of the past and present so how do you pick from the guile and finishing of hunt/rush/kenny to the power shooting of gerrard/souness and mcmahon. However, watching them nothing gives me more joy than seeing the sheer elation on Emlyns face when he lashes one in from 30 yards...god bless him ,what a player.
For me it was the game in 1989 - Liverpool 9-0 Crystal Palace. I say this because 8 different Liverpool players scored a goal with Steve Nicol getting 2. This was and i believe still is a record in top flight football. I still have it on VHS and what a game it is. Dalglish being manager back then also makes it sweeter! And also worth a mention - Gerrard v Olympiakos. Mainly due to the sheer importance of the goal but also the way he hit it
Stevie's header in the 2005 final, one of the best, definately can't pick a best, Fowler scored so many great goals it would be hard to pick one out. Rushies curler around the keepers arm in the cup final win over sunderland, magic finish, anticipated the keeper getting there and accounted for that all in a split second. A master
Masch to Gerrard, Gerrard to Voronin, Voronin sweetly backheels to Gerrard, goal. Rarity value more than astoundingment. Notable not only for the record CL tally but also for the standing ovation, well-deserved, for the Flying V when he was subbed. I stood up for him longer than I should've but he had more than we saw. Also, this: As I recall, Crouchy had been slayed for missing one in an England match shortly before. He got this one right on the sweet spot.
