Guthrie to Birmingham

Would rather keep him as squad depth and lose Smith.

We had a small squad last year and if we are only signing 6 players we seem to be looking to offload alot.

if we only get 3 more in I would prefer we got rid of Smith and kept the rest as squad depth.......Yes including Perch

 

But who do you take out to give him that chance? If everyones fit theres no way you put him in ahead of Tiote, Nolan, or Barton if he's playing centrally as he isn't as good as any of them. This season we've got Cabaye coming in and at £4.5m he's going to be ahead of him in the pecking order, better for him to get games at a lower level than be 4th or 5th choice with us.

he'll just have to wait his turn, and seize the opportunity.

 

Good backup Guthrie and can be a very tricky player on his day when he actually puts the effort in.

Definitely not good enough to be starting games ahead of what we have though, stand out player in the championship but average in the PL.

 

I think people got annoyed with Guthrie because he was being played on the right wing a lot, where he isn't suited for at all, so its not really his fault, I quite like him, except for the away West Brom game!

 

Don't really rate him, so not bothered if he is moved on. We need to replace him though, unless Vuckic or Richardson are deemed ready to be promoted to a backup role.

 

No panic to do so really, we've got the same numbers as last year with Cabaye coming in for Nolan and Gosling being effectively a new signing next season.

 

So it's Guthrie, Best & Routledge now?!
