    Sums up my feelings.

There is definitely a 'point if no return' where the squad balance is concerned. We will be very close to crossing it if Lovren and schneiderlin go.

There is also the point that if we can get top dollar, Saints have a chance to build a new side. We were desperately short of players last season and we may only have had the money to buy 2-3 players. Now, we can replace a couple of players with four players. Losing Lovren and Schneiderlin will be a blow, but the same applies there. Not ideal, but need to make the best of the cards you are dealt. I reckon we need about 8 players unless a few youngsters step up.

So does Koeman, according to today's papers. Pellè + 7 more, they're saying.

End of the day who is taking the biggest risk the board and Kat or the suporters? Yes a people may not like what is going on but we still have a club to support. It's not about the name on the back of the shirt it's about the badge on the front.

I think in this specific situation, when we already lost three important players, it's a better option to keep an unhappy Lovren and Schnieerlin than risk replacing them with poor players.

    Anyway, time will tell.

Whathever happens, it' will be the same for me. I'll watch the game and hope we'll win.

But i can still voice my concerns. :)

We signed 7 on our return to the prem

    Gazzaniga
    Clyne
    Yoshida
    Davis
    Ramirez
    Mayuka
    Rodriguez

Plus Boruc followed shortly after, Puncheon was allowed back into the fold and we made a point of bringing in Shaw & JWP.

11 additions to our Championship promotion team/squad. We survived that season. Now we have a much bigger budget and greater pull. No reason to be down in the dumps

"We still have a club to support" is not a valid excuse against potentially bad decisions.

We also had a club that was capable of threatening the top 6 with the right signings. To throw that away and go back to mediocrity is tough to take. Of course I am ecstatic about where we are compared to where were, but that doesn't mean everyone associated with SFC is immune from criticism.

As you seem to not be able to read what I put before at all or try and accept anothers opinion. I will leave you to your negative thoughts. I have agreed it is a risk but I feel it is a risk we need to take.

See least you can see both sides and are willing to see what happens. I have no problem with that at all and as you say that's see what happens. <ok>

You also have to consider the complications it causes in purchasing a player I.e negotiating contract and paper work. Plus everyone will string us out for as much money as possible. We can't wait until the end if the transfer window to complete the deals either :/ it's going to be a very long summer.

Pretty confused about this comment, as I have exactly the same views as southamptonfccroatia. I'm not being any more negative than he is!

On a different note, southampton fc official twitter just retweeted a tweet about Le Tiss staying at southampton for his whole career because of the fans...

    Nice.

No one knows what the future holds, but I'm sure the plan is not mediocrity. The board would probably agree that things are not ideal, but are laying plans to stabilise and ultimately improve the team. Being willing to plough all the money back in plus a bit more is hardly lacking ambition. However rich she is, Saints must be a major part of her fortune so I would suspect she wants us to do well. I always smile to myself when fans say they aren't willing to risk their ticket or season ticket money and yet criticise Katharina who has sunk a fortune into the club.

Just seems you are by what you put. Everyone has their own opinion and sometimes it's best not to try and change that persons opinion. One it stops threads being full with the same stuff over and over. I just hope Liebherr can convince you to change your opinion and i am certain she will. <ok>

Yep the tweet was definitely a little dig.

Osvaldorama does have a point, Beefy. Saints made huge steps to get to the Prem in record time, and then made huge advances within the Prem within two seasons. It hurts like hell to think we may have to regroup and lose ground this season when, if Poch and the players had stayed, to challenge the top 6 may have taken 2 or 3 choice signings to acquire the additional quality and the strength in depth. Now we start with major uncertainty again, albeit with very nice kitty to spend. Until that kitty is opened though, we have no idea how ambitious this club remains. There's a part of me that feels we should now get rid of anyone who doesn't want to stay and get the new guard in.

Koeman, Youngsters + New Quality, and let's keep our fingers crossed. I hate saying hopefully, because I shouldn't have to, but hopefully, the momentum will continue and Saints will challenge this season.

On a better note Crook says Saints want and will try to get Morgan to stay.

Poch didn't want to stay as he is a c***. As you know by now I don't do the looking back and saying what if. I don't see the point as we don't have a time machine or anything, best just look forward and see what happens. No point in trying to predict what will happen either, that's why I look at it as positive until proved other wise.

That will happen. But we have to do it anyway. They'll be gelled by the season after next unless they all leave again.

    "Go on, stay."

    "No."

    "Please?"

    "No."

    "I'll be your friend."

    "No."

Yeah, this is the crux of it! Great post TSS. All we can do is wait and see how it all pans out. A month ago there was no doubt, we had a good team and next season was all about 'how high will we finish?', whereas now it's 'fingers crossed we're good enough to not get sucked into a relegation dogfight.'

Even if the board have the best intentions in the world, and believe Koeman can find incredible replacements, it's still a gamble. Basically, in Les Reed and Katarina we trust. We just have to shout louder to spur the new boys on!
