You have a picture of a person who had talent, but completely wasted it and his life. Yet you perhaps rate him as a person, because he played football for the club you support. You probably don't know Gasgoine or what his personality is, yet you still keep his picture up as if to announce your admiration of him. He has convictions against him for violence and has admitted to physical assaults against a woman, whilst being "intoxicated" and has avoided legal payments for his children. As we are discussing U2 and specifically Bono on this forum, I question why you state such a "hatred" of a man who offers much to his audience and tries to get other human right needs known throughout the world, whilst appearing to like a former football player who has such personal issues and who appears to only think of themselves.

In summary, Bono is a prick but Gazza is a bigger prick.

I'm not a huge fan of Bono but I used to love U2. They have not made a decent album since Achtung Baby but they are still a great live band as was shown last night.

The encore was a let down though. I would'nt pay to see them now but i'd rather watch Bono any day than that prick Bobby Gillespie from Primal Scream, I would pay good money to give that fanny a good punch in the face.

My wifes and her family are Irish, some from Navan and some from Castle Dermot, I've nowt against the Irish and have many, many Irish freinds - and one of the great things about them is that even after all these years of knowing me and my sense of humourand that I like winding people up (not in a nasty way, just in banter) they never fail to bite when I use the word Irish in even the very slightest of mickey taking or derogartory terms..much as you have just done. Put simply, I do it because it amuses me.

Coming from a resident from the City of sectarianism, thats laughable.Just proves my point that it gets a bite everytime. Touchy lot, you celtic types (celtic as in celts, the race, not the football team.) Had to point that out becuas ethe intelect of some of the posters on here leaves a lot to be desired. I have a mate who is, to put it politely, big boned, and red of hair. On occasion I call him a fat ginger ****. I've got a big nose. (Though I'd perfer to describe it as 'Roman', sounds much better.) Geuss what? I've been called a big-nosed **** by the fat ginger ****. So if I want to refer to my Irish mates as Oirish now and again, I will, without any hesitation or feelings of guilt. I wouldn't call them Paddy, as they might take offence.
And the reason I mentioned Bono as being 'Oirish' in the first place as part of the description of him was becasuse thats what he's sold himself as for years and years, continuaaly banging on about being an 'Irish band' - a 'professional Irishman', like Tarbuck and Cilla are 'professional scousers'. It's a tag he made for himself.

As I typed it I knew deep down there was a hook attached. As you say though, it's like putting a cream bun in front of a fatty.
