Not really. why would it be sad? We paid £30million for a CB 13 years ago. Weve paid £27million for a LB 13 years on..... Not a bad deal really. If he is decent for his career, bargain, if hes as good as expected..... brilliant deal
I rather think it's the continued inflation of prices for tickets and to watch football that's sad. Footballers can, in general, only be paid out of the money that the fans provide to their club. The more money the fans are willing to pay to watch and follow their club, be it in the PL, CL or whatever, the more the clubs will pay for the players to keep the fans watching. Ultimately the fans can put a stop to the price inflation, by refusing to pay ever increasing prices for tickets, Sky subscriptions and branded tat. Until they do, the market will ensure that the vast majority of money coming in from the fans goes straight out to the players who sell most of the tat.
Simplistic. Stop the sale of powdered Rhino horn, tiger pelts, dolphin balls and ground all gook airlines flying to Manchester and make your club the institution it once was.
I'd even up that and say £35mil is the new £20mil We have the oil clubs to thank for that. City and Chelsea just spending ludicrous amounts of money on players - has clearly upped the going price for players. Rich dirty currupted oil clubs.... ****s.
let's not forget united spending 30 million on fellaini clubs will tripling the value of their players now
