I doubt he'll have unilateral use of the transfer budget except in bringing in his own senior players such as Pelle. Hopefully that works out better than Osvaldo. It's worked for him before. We don't know who was completely in control of the purse strings at the clubs where his transfer dealings were criticized either. At Ajax I believe he was at loggerheads with Van Gaal the whole time. Still we're facing a rebuild without a similarly experienced manager to Pardew at this level of english football.
Hee hee, wouldn't it be funny if Van Gaal was pants at transfer policy and united sign a pile of crap!
Its so exciting, its like, well I wanted to put a porch on my house, so I decided to knock the whole house down to build it.
Ronald will have a final say, but I hope we already have players lined up. We need some continuity and we need some players in fairly quickly. Otherwise we would be faced with RK turning up Tuesday with a couple of months to tie deals down...hopefully some are in the pipeline already.
two things I know of Van Gaal. 1. he wanted to sell ibrahimovic to the first buyer who came along for €7m because he wasn't a team player. Koeman thought he was worth a lot more. He eventually went for €16m 2. Pelle signed for AZ when Van Gaal was manager and did **** all for years. Koeman was his manager there for less than a season but Brought Pelle to Feyenoord when he got the chance and he came good.
I have heard nothing on incomings. Haven't heard anything for a week or two, it does seem they are trying to close ranks abit more.
There's an old garage mechanic's phrase about appraising a car before repairing it. It's... let's jack up the horn and put a new car under it..! Similar feel to yours.
I mean wait to see who comes in. With the exception of Shaw and Morgan, I think we could do even better. Every manager wants to build his team, put his mark on the squad and style of play. Let's just see what happens
The biggest excitement for next season now is finding out just how different we will be than this season. Will the players struggle to gel/adapt to a new system and slump towards relegation, or will we gel quickly enough to stay in the top half? Our current starting 11 based on players that are (maybe) actually staying is: Boruc Chambers Fonte Yoshida Clyne Wanyama Cork Reed JWP Gallager Isgrove/Rowe
