Why have we not yet bought players with skill and ability? How can we watch players like Conway join Cardiff (no money and no real club) from Dundee United and then watch as they offer more money (from feck knows where) for Goodwillie from the same club, these are two cracking young players with massive potential and would walk into our team. We have two friendlies in Scotland in mid July, who the feck is going to be playing for us, some teenagers or the usual old buddies of Grayson.
Other Championship clubs are slowly moving forward and gearing up for the new season, we are doing nowt and it's pathetic. I have no problem with Grayson, but I do with other people involved in the club, including Lorimer, why are you not speaking out about how this club is being run, you surely must see it every day and know what the business plan is (it isn't football).
    Get decent players in NOW.:emoticon-0116-evilg

I know this lad, he's not had a great time down at Everton and played for a few Championship clubs (on loan). Made the Scotland squad lately, despite not playing for any first team for a while. Got sent off on his Everton debut and it all went downhill from there. Started at Stirling Albion (the club Billy Bremner supported) and I think has the ability, but will need lots of confidence building and a good run in the first team. He will be cheap, so perhaps that is why we are linked with him. I would suggest Ian doesn't want to move to another "big" club, just to sit on the bench, more likely a return to Scotland (Motherwell, Hearts etc) or League One club, where he will get a regular game.

He's a decent keeper, you could do far worse.

Southampton have offered up to £3m to Doncaster Rovers for Billy Sharp, wasn't he once on our radar? Show you how much we have fallen, when a club like Southampton can offer that much for a player, when we can't go above wages!

    1. We don't need a winger.
    2. We don't need a striker (especially not one who's a rapist).

The fact is neither of these players could walk into our team. Conway is in all ways inferior to Gradel and Snoddy and Goodwillie has raw talent and that's about it.

We do have money we just choose not to spend it <ok>.

But I thought "he cheered the Glasgow Celtic just as soon as he could talk"? :emoticon-0104-surpr

I'm not really bothered about splashing out on Goodwillie and Conway. I'm sure they're good players but our attack is good enough already and we need to prioritize the signings of midfielders, defenders and a keeper. Not frustrated yet, though I will be a bit miffed if we sign players towards the end of pre-season and they don't get a proper fitness preparation under their belts.

Why do you think we need more attacking players bigfatboab? Welcome BTW. :)

Bremner was born in Stirling, grew up in Raploch area of Stirling and was a Stirling Albion supporter, he was also a ball boy for the club. His testimonial was against Stirling Albion. Conway's gone so this doesn't matter anymore, but Goodwillie is better than some think he is and would be brilliant in the Championship.

Always thought this song was written by someone who thought Scottish football was only Rangers and Celtic. As a wee boy Bremner was at Annfield (the old home of Stirling Albion) as was the rest of his family. He may have gone to Parkhead at some point, so it may be the song is correct, but from all accounts he supported Stirling Albion and stated so in an interview to the local Stirling newspaper, just before his death.

The song has the following line:

When they talk of Matthews and Pele
Of Lawton and Finney and James
Like a whiskey in your belly
He will glow amongst those names

I would suggest the amount of English players mentioned, shows that it was written by someone who knew English football well, but had little if any knowledge of Scottish football.

It's not attacking we need to improve. Gradel is very similar to Conway but better, and Snoddy is different but, if what I've seen is anything to go by, also a lot better. Goodwillie certainly has talent but his attitude is at the very least questionable and would be a stupid risk to take when we score enough goals already anyway. Billy was born in the Raploch (or Castle View as they call it now haha) but having lived there (Stirling, not the Raploch) it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if he supported an Old Firm team, everyone else does.

The reason we dont normally dive into signing players is because we have to pay them wages from the 1st of july. Everybody knows ken bates is as tight as nuns ****! If the lad is sat on his arse not training etc, its not practical!

We may already have deals in place
