    Atomic
    Hanging On The Telephone

I love Sunday Girl personally, the French bit ties in with some kind of sexual awakening as a young man!

Maria for me! But Heart of Glass I adore too, especially the ooh ooh aah aah parts towards the end, sends shivers down me spine it does.

OMG ... that is exactly why I like it!!

I forgot Atomic. My problem with Hanging on the telephone is the Gary Davies "story behind a song" gag he did on Radio one back in the early 80's.... "Woman comes in to see husband hitting the back of the telly because the picture wasn't good.....blah, blah, blah... when she asks what he's doing, he replies, "I'm just banging on the telly Joan"

    No. Thankfully.

Okay, Elbow on now. The set where everyone waits for "One Day Like This"

(Bit unfair actually. They're a cracking live band).

Nor do I. Don't remember too much about Blondie. I was listening to great music at the time.

Unfair. Very unfair. There's no doubt Blondie wrote some classic pop/post punk stuff and were HUGELY influential.

    Yes FLT, Fine Young Cannibals.

My mate Guy is playing bass for Bryan Ferry tomorrow at Glasto, as we're on the topic of ye olde bands.

I give you that Debbie Harry was hot. Though at the time she seemed a bit too old, when the hormones were running around with glee. I was 21-22ish and she would have been 35-36 already. Now Kate Bush was another matter. Same age. That was fatal. :)

Also like her music, but otherwise was into the ususal supspects like Tull, Zeppelin [still], Yes, Moody Blues, and from the newer set, Pistols, Stranglers, Clash, Dexys [oh dear, I couldn't help it] and... my beloved XTC. Blondie didn't feature.
