£25m is an easy "pull a number from fresh air" lazy Jorno ****e..
Been reported that the actual fee will rise to a max of £23m..
Initial fee is believed to be £17.5 with £5.5m add-ons!

    That more acceptable?

Don't believe that Southampton will settle for that.

guess depends how the sell on clause works. Is it only on an initial fee in which case maybe they will accept more add ons knowing it actually gets the more money etc.

If the players made it clear that he wants to leave and is likely to throw a stroop, then they maybe forced to accept a lower fee..
They are claimed to have financial issues and aren't exactly a Man City/Chelsea where they can keep a high value asset to "teach" him a lesson..

Never understand why some of you so wrapped up with transfer fees.
Rogers gave us our best season last season for many a year. If he believes lallana will make us better ( and he will ) then trust his judgement. It's not our money and none of us actually know the amount.
Manure have just spent ( reportedly ) £30 million on an 18 y.o with potential. Think that puts lallana deal in perspective.
And if he wants to spend £20 mill on Moreno and the same on Shaqiri and £25 on Sanchez, would u object. I don't care how much we spend as long as we are stronger than last season and don't have to look to the likes of Aspas to come on and win us a game.
However, I would like to see him look to strengthen our defence .

The Lallana deal was also meant to be Dead too...
They're just trying to start an auction, they've failed so far... when they don't succeed we'll be able to nab him at the price we're prepared to pay.

Think it's just more the fact some are concerned that spending so much on Lallana will impact the amount we spend on other areas of the team (notable full backs and another forward option). A you say if we go and spend £25m on Sanchez and £15m on a full back and keep Suarez then I don't think we'll care too much about the extra 5-10m we spent on Lallana.

If however it means we can't afford Sanchez/Shaqiri and instead have to settle for someone for £10m (this Belgian forward we're being linked with) then it becomes an issue.

Yeah I can see that but we just don't know who is on our radar and then who is on their way out. We can only complain at the end of the transfer window.

Well happy we've got (near enough, need leaning pics first) Lallana - fit's our style of play perfectly.

He'll be a very good signing. Perfect Rodgers signing.

    So who's next? :)

    Agree.

    Moreno next I reckon.

Rodgers said 5 or 6 signings so it will be interesting to see who the last 2 are. Have we gone off Konoplyanka?

But if we can't moan what do we do... just sit here patiently? That'd be too boring :p

Anyone reckon we might go for Rodriguez of Switzerland if the Moreno deal is dead? Haven't really paid much attention to him during the WC to be honest.

That's pure speculation - there is no way a club would come out and say 'right we have 60mil to spend'.

That would send so many signals to clubs that we're buying players from. That figure has been plucked from thin air and everyone has just gone with it.

I hope we have gone off Konoplyanka and gone for a better standard of player like Sanchez and/or Shaqiri.

I still see Lallana moving more to a central midfielder role under Rodgers. Him and Henderson have lots of energy, both press well and both move from box to box with ease. I think they'd make a great pairing with either Coutinho/Sterling ahead of him in a diamond, or as a 4-3-3 with Gerrard behind.

Like many others, I'm not overjoyed if he costs us 25mill. Not because he's a bad player, but because I'd just expect a little more for that money. If Suarez stays, we've got a limited pot to spend and that's a huge chunk of it. We still need to look at our defense, a DM and a wide forward. If Suarez leaves, well, it's hardly on the road to replacing him.

What I've seen of Rodriquez he has looked very good. Young ( doesn't look it) and good going forward too. Good second option for me and a lot cheaper

Moreno seems more of a Rodgers player. He will fight for him.

How about swapping Lallana in for Allen in our diamond? Sounds good to me.

Were you guys happy with the Downing deal at the time, cant remember seeing a Liverpool fan have a rant about it or not happy about it.
