few of there fans are unhappy that they have paid £ 1.5 million for a player in the last year of his contract,
Is he ? Maybe next summer if Burnley go down. Then again the Shaw wonga will be burning a hole soon. and the rest. Nobody knows for sure but i bet it is more than £30m which for an 18 year old left back is crazy. So much potential yes but so much still to learn. It makes Snodgrass and Livermore (reported) fees look cheap. ++++++++ Arsenal look set to land Loic Remy from Qpr. £8-10m has been reported. Jack Rodwell about to leave Man City. Let battle commence. Carlisle have signed ex.Tiger Billy Paynter and Gary Dicker on 2 years deals. Leicester are close to signing David Nugent and Wes Morgan on new deals. Nicklas Bendtner is one of 9 players to leave Arsenal when contracts end on june 30th. Frank Lampard looks set to confirm his move to the big apple. MLS New York City. QPR have joined the long list of PL clubs who want Cardiff defender Steven Caulker.
Lallana to Liverpool for £25m is now being reported, seems odd, you'd think he'd be worth more than Shaw. Arsenal are now in for Lovren. Saints are going to have plenty of coin, but they're losing a hell of a lot of good players.
...And some people think we're paying way over the odds! £31.5M for a left back with (admittedly huge potential) only 1 full PL season behind him? The world has gone mad!!
Not really. Lallana is 26, a good player but probably won't improve a great deal. Shaw is 18 and a lot of potential. Man Utd could get a lot of years out of him and could probably recoup a good chunk of that money if they wanted.
Two Premier League seasons behind him. And £31.5m is a smaller amount of Man United's income, than £7m is of ours. It's all relative.
Talksport report £31.2m for Luke Shaw plus add ons. Lallana to Liverpool deal still to be agreed between the clubs but he is having a medical with Liverpool. Saints after FC Twente midfielder Dusan Tadic valued @ £10m Saints new boss Ronald Koeman is also interested in Livorno striker Paulinho. Saints also face losing at least 3 more with Gaston Ramirez set to be next. Liverpool v. Saints on the opening day of the PL looks certain to be Live on either Sky or BT.
Man Udt have without doubt been mugged by both Athletico Bilbao and Southampton to the tune of £60m plus. If these 2 fail then what next for the Red Devils. ?? At least Dick Turpin wore a mask.
Man United paid £26m for an eighteen year old ten years ago, that one worked out rather well for them.
So what ? They have massively overpaid and it is a massive gamble. But they had to do something after last season.
