I like some of their music but I just can't stand that man Bono. It was on the Tele? Were they Any good?
Bono's not my favourite person but they are a great band.It was on bbc3/4 Im watching it again on the i player now.
I missed it, but heard there was a big protest as they were coming on..to do with their 'tax' situation
I watched Jimmy Cliff. Now THAT is class. U2? Wouldn't cross the road to see them bunch of tax-dodging, holier-than-thou ****ers.
pompous oirish midget, you cud tell as soon as they came on that as far as he was concerned he was the centre of the universe. strip away all the pre-gig hype and whistles and bells of the lightshow, it was aso-so greatest hits set and his voice is on the way out. Worst headline set in years U2, Coldplay and Beyonce. Been for the last eight years or so, when the line up was confirmed didn't even bother applying for tickets. Bonos only saving grace is that he's not quite as much of a **** as Chris Martin.
I'm ****ing sick of being preached to by rock stars. If they want to be politicians then ****ing do so. I go to gigs to hear music and have a good time, not to be told by ****s like Bono that we need to end world debt (try paying taxes then you ****ing prick!)
Why you have to qualify your dislike for Bono with the fact that he is 'Oirish' only you know. That aside, the man has a higher opinion of himself than Jesus Christ did. During the talks for the Irish peace process he phoned Bill Clinton and advised him not to grant Gerry Adams a visa to visit the USA. Bill politely told him to take himself off but it gives you an insight into Bonos thinking when he contacts the president of America and offers him foreign policy advice. He also kept those stupid sunglasses on when he met Nelson Mandela. You are meeting one of the greatest men of the 20th century Bono, take the ****ing shades off.
Bono is a fine upstanding individual who has done an enormous amount of work for people less fortunate. He should be revered and idolised by all.
I would hazard a guess that not one person on this forum knows what taxes any member of U2 pay, so they have based their opinion on some drivel written in a newspaper or from some attention seeking idiot on a student style forum. Shame on all of you who express an opinion of celebrities without any solid base to back it up, who the feck are you to express an opinion on others! U2 may not be musically everyone's cup of tea, but they are performers and entertainers, and as far as I can see they are at the top of this profession and have been for many many years. The waste of space, arrogant people are those who express an opinion based on nothing but their own thoughts, who then want the world to know their personal opinions, even if the world isn't interested.
Aye, I'm Bono.... A famous person tries to get the world to know about issues around the world and get's slagged about it. An arsehole takes loads of drugs and booze and then blows his brains out and he's a hero...ffs, get a life. What better way of getting a message across the whole world than using a celebrity that people listen to. Wake up and see the real world, not the big bad one you think it really is.
