Older people are often accused of lacking ambition, when in fact we've just been there before :). The more bells and whistles, the greater the chance of it blowing up.

In other news, in partnership with Veho, SMS becomes the first stadium in europe to install consumer grade bluetooth speakers as an upgrade.

As someone with a house full of them, I can promise you that LED lighting is considerably more reliable than incandescent.

Surely we should be installing solar panels on the roof to help power it all.

Read on the Echo the other day that their are plans to remove the Gas containers, but it will get blocked if nothing deemed as an improvement is agreed to replace them and this does not include nothing.

Apparently the installation of undersoil heating was a Premier League requirement for all clubs to have by the upcoming season.

It is, but I thought that had been in place as a requirement for a while; obviously not.

I think provision was made for it, but never implemented. I doubt it'll ever get used, unless they want to warm the lads' tootsies.

Nope, was issued as a rule of entry for the Premier League for this season, so all clubs had to comply.

Crystal Palace groundsmen was on Sky the other day talking about it.

(that's two sensible posts in a row for me)

When St Mary's was built, they included some underpitch drainage channels and a pumping room. But they never bought the two large & expensive pumps required for a system at that time. Weighed it up against the probability of a frozen pitch given our location and the natural tidal warming of the sub-strata.

I believe this system installed now uses small bore pipes to channel hot water under the pitch if required, so the pumps required are smaller & cheaper than the system from 12 years ago.

    (THREE sensible posts. Damn)

There will be some amazing effects with LED lighting. Because they can be turned on and off instantly, we can generate a special dramatic atmosphere as the players come out on the pitch and isolate the centre circle for the minutes silence (for example). Do it well it will be impressive. Do it badly it will look plain crap.

Do the new LED floodlights include an option for directing laser beams at the opposing goalie's eyes at suitable moments?

I see that one of the goalkeepers at this World Cup has been subject to a laser light pen while playing.

It is bad where I am. Not clear, distorted and not very inspiring when they play motivational music
