But do we get 27m now or is it more than likely staggered. I don't want to see "we will pay you 9m for the next 3 seasons and beef it up to 34m if he realises unrealistic conditions"

 

Almost certainly staggered, though I'd imagine that we get at least half up front.

 

Think it's pretty normal for transfer fees to be paid in agreed instalments. No doubt Saints will pay others in similar fashion, if on a smaller scale. Hope any of the potential transfer does not include United winning the premier league. I think that could be a fair few seasons

 

£34m.......wow, that is a great deal for us. Hope we spend it wisely. Might have to get the Helen Skelton topless video on to take advantage of my excitement.

 

Even if Utd pay in installments, it's the norm nowadays, and I'd imagine we'll similarly pay in installments. If so, it shouldn't hinder our budget, i.e. we could also pay £34m with parallel installments for another player

Just said on Sky that the fee for Luke Shaw is understood to be a lot higher than the price being bandied around....??? Is that with add ons?

Huge amount for an 18year old. Good luck to him but I think he should have stayed another season.

 

Hope we subtlety get the fee out there in the public domain so clubs know we re not a pushover

Chamberlain sold for the price Markus (R.I.P) paid for the club and now Luke Shaw pays for the training ground. Bale & Walcott funded our survival. Yes it's disappointing when the academy players leave after so few appearances, but the club lives on and is stronger than it's ever been
