The sooner you realise that he hasn't shat on you, but you have shat on him out of victim complex, the better. He didn't go out and bite in order to sock it to Uruguay or Liverpool, did he? He was in fighting mode, couldn't help himself, flawed thinking, and did it. He deserves our love now more than ever.

 

Ingrate is just about the right word for one who calls Luis Suarez a burden on Liverpool's reputation and finances after all that he's given us.

 

He bit a player,that's not fighting.

This club was here before him and will be here long after he's gone, its him that should be ****ing grateful to LFC not the reverse.
But fine you think his behaviour was/is acceptable, you'll find you're in a very tiny minority there Livtor.

 

The gulf between acceptable and a 4-month stadium ban has sucked in many a so-called fan I'd say.

 

Fifa took his previous two bites into consideration when they decided his punishment, do you think they should have given him a knife and fork and a condiment set and a pat on the back?

No-one should attempt to condone what Suarez did.
None of us on here did. Many of us got pissed off with the hysterical over-reaction and self-serving sanctimony of the wums who tried to make out he's Satan. A lot of us are also aggrieved that the club, that has done so much to help him achieve some measure of self-control has to bear the brunt of his indiscretions whilst playing elsewhere.
Many players get away with far greater levels of aggression and dangerous, violent behaviour than he shows, but it's the bizarre nature of his transgression that brings so much opprobrium.
Uruguayans are not being heroic or helpful for supporting their player- helping him entails accepting his wrongdoing and trying to ensure it doesn't happen again.
By lauding his actions or trying to wave them away as unimportant, they are reinforcing the belief that he's done nothing wrong and that only increases the likelihood that he will do it again in the future.
It doesn't help Suarez, Uruguay or Liverpool Football Club.

Not loud enough. Middling retorts get chewed and spat up by the chorus of monkeys. The monkeys need to be given a good loud earful of unequivocal truth, otherwise they run away with the jewels.

We still owe him. This rancid victim complex is annoying to witness. He didn't want to harm neither Uruguay nor Liverpool. He was fighting for his badge/flag too passionately so. Friend in need... goes the saying.

Right. So? How can one state this simple true fact and not leverage it enthusiastically to Suarez's defence? Pathetic.

Behind the scenes, I'm sure they are giving him a good chiding and a loving word of stern advice. However, out in the monkey courts, I applaud them for standing united and resolute in his defence given that he did not injure anyone, trying to drown a few decibels off the bloodthirsty howls of the ignorant and hypocrite masses.

In the end, it was just a harmless nibble in the heat of a physical passionate sport of "war".

Biting is just a subconscious, fantastical, immediate sign of frustration. Punching would be worse in my eyes. It is more deliberate, cocky, overbearing, physically harming, and more likely to touch upon male pride, get reciprocated and start a dangerous brawl.

 

So you don't count punching each other as fighting but you do class biting as fighting.

In any case, as he is not a dirty player of the injurious sort, Suarez went for a nibble in his moment of red mist, rather than for a sucker punch to the ear or a headbutt to the face. That's rather better, don't you think?
