Ok the mancs are reportedly signing Shaw tomorrow for £30m, we reportedly offered £26m for Lallana which Southampton backheeled supposedly because he needs to put in a written transfer request. Ain't seen it stated that Shaw handed a request in to get his move and Lallana is seen as not worth as much as Shaw. Southampton kissing Utd's arse and trying to rip us off.
To be fair... they didn't make the first player we got from them hand in a transfer request either! The more difficult they make it for us to sigh lalallalalana- the more likely we are to spend that money on someone better for less.
Very true Hoke, but Southampton rate sure as more of an asset than Lallana and know Utd are have got mega money to spend but they want a similar amount from us a player they don't rate as highly. Its all down to Liverpool getting cruise departure status after years of Southampton fighting against it being granted.
I say let them keep him and get better for less. Coutinho and Sterling are both better in the number ten role than Lallana and Adam's not the most ideally box-to-box midfielder either.
Yeah, its just pissing me off that LVG's targets are getting signed while he's still managing a team at the WC and we seem to be at a standstill and have to endure all the Suarez bullshit in the meantime.
They're not watching the pennies, they're throwing money at the problem. We've done that before and it didn't go well, there is no guarantee it will work at OT either. Time will tell I guess. I'm happy for us to take our time and get the right deals.
I think we will tbh, Rodgers has made two offers so far and the 2nd was higher than what most think he was worth, I reckon he'll make a final slightly improved offer after the player asks for a transfer. But there's plenty of other players out there as dev said.
Won't be happy if we do, why say £25m is our final offer and then go in with an improved offer? Seems stupid, and also makes the club look stupid. Walk away unless we can get him for cheap, Southampton don't need to sell so they want a **** load of money if he does end up going. Would rather go for Shaqiri or Sanchez.
Rather have Sanchez out of those two. Both would be nice but because it doesn't address the central midfield area I don't want to see that really.
