Yippee..! Just found a website where I can watch any Seinfeld episode I want at any time.

Yes, I know humour has moved on, and I'm a keen supporter of it, but I guffawed back then [1989-1999] and some of it is still super-cute. Just have to suspend that old time clock.

Have you watched Curb Your Enthusiasm before TSS? Larry David who was the co-creator and a writer of Seinfeld is awesome in it. I never watched Seinfeld but I think some of that humour is in Curb, along with swearing etc (I know Larry has enjoyed doing a show on HBO where he can do and say whatever he wants, which I guess he wasn't allowed to do on Seinfeld hence things like that contest episode where things are merely implied!).

In the 7th season of Curb the main story arc is him trying to cajole the cast of Seinfeld into doing a reunion show and all the old characters are back in it. I'm sure you would enjoy it!

What a frustrating start to the morning. I shouldn't even be doing any work before 9, I just happened to get here early and wanted to just get not606ing and whatnot. Lady in a different department wants me to do something for her. Gotta scan some contracts and then attach them as PDFs to a database. The scans are in the scans folder on my PC. They need to be saved in a different folder. Simple click and drag job, right? No.

"We need to save them as PDFs in the other folder"

    "I think they're already PDFs"

    "They're Acrobat files"

    "Yeah, PDFs"

"We need to open them in Excel and save them as PDFs in the right folder"

    "I don't think..."

"This isn't working, I'll get IT over."

I think that was the same comment you made when I last brought up the subject of Seinfeld. I would be careful about that opinion, because that assumes that you only like comedies with no studio audience. Besides, I believe that as long ago as the 1970's there was a directive in the USA that canned laughter was not to be used, only live studio audience reaction.

As it happens, I also love Episodes, which has no studio audience or recorded laughter track.

Back in the 1990s, I was very busy, always out, even moving to a different country, so I didn't have much time watching TV. When I did find myself in front of a set I would seek out the odd programme, and Seinfeld would be one of those because one was guaranteed a broad smile. Often the comedy was good, sometimes superb. But I was never able to watch a regular set of episodes, so it's great to be able to do that whenever I like now.

I had a similar situation with Curb Your Enthusiasm, and I did catch one or two episodes, enjoying those. I'd certainly would like to be able to try that too, more often, so that one can get into the rhythm and style of the comedy.

Larry David wrote and writes intelligent and sharply observed comedy, from a very personal perspective. His target audience has always tended to be the over-30s, so I'm sure some people just don't get the laughs.
