Cheers, I have this album in my collection, I was a about 8 years old when it came out in 1982 i think. I'm a big Steve Howe fan.
Talking of Steve Howe, I wonder how many on this forum were here in 1975? A great night in a great period for the R's...
Thanks for sharing that Sooper. I was aware of this being my Dad was at this gig. I remember him saying the PA was not all that good and not very loud. This was filmed just after one of my fave drummers Bill Bruford had left to join King Crimson. I like yes a lot and love Close To The Edge song and album! Keep them coming mate!
A band who never got the credit they deserved...
This was one of the best albums of the early 70s from another band who never got the plaudits their music deserved. 'Grave New World' by the Strawbs was actually a cinema released film in 1972...
Rockin' classics don't get better than this....
Was Rick Wakeman on this Strawbs album Sooper. My Dad had all these kind of artist in his collection henc I got into all this kind of timless music! Btw my wifi signal keeps dropping out, when this happens again I will not be able to log back in for a while, it says 15 min but Iv had to wait upto an hour. Please forgive me if this happens again and I don't reply to anyone.
And a typically manic Keith Emerson with my favourite ELP track...
This unheard of band evolved from the wreckage of Procol Harum and this track is a masterpiece, starting all bluesy, then going into a bit of a jig and finishing with a four minute guitar solo that is an air-guitarist's wet dream...
And the ultimate showman, note the drummer in this 1968 clip is none other than Carl Palmer of ELP fame. They wouldn't get past Elf & Safety these days...
