The player was expected to go on from Swansea to London to negotiate with other clubs, but after more positive than expected discussions with the Welsh club yesterday and this morning, the player is seemingly set to sign a three year deal with the Premier League outfit early this evening. The deal is not yet done, but edging closer.
Fun this transfer window, eh? Be so glad when we get some concrete news. I guess it all adds to the excitement of the new season!
Swansea clinch Bafetimbi Gomis transfer with massive £16million four-year contract Jun 24, 2014 22:29 By Alan Nixon "Swans blow away rival suitors Newcastle and QPR and agree Bosman deal with France striker they wanted to buy for £10m 12 months ago Done deal: Bafetimbi Gomis has agreed £80,000-a-week move and had his Swansea medical Bafetimbi Gomis is signing a stunning record contract with Swansea â worth more than £16million. The big striker agreed to become a major capture for the Swans after supremo Huw Jenkins battered rivals Newcastle and Queens Park Rangers with his cheque book. Free-agent Gomis, who went through a medical on Tuesday, quit French side Lyon at the end of his deal and talked to various clubs in England and abroad. The 28-year-old hitman has won 12 France caps, scoring three international goals. He opted for a four-year contract at around £80,000 a week in Wales â the biggest package the Swans have ever paid. However, the deal also works out perfectly for Swansea as there is no fee for a striker they wanted to sign for £10m last summer." http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...afetimbi-gomis-transfer-3758653#ixzz35bCofl7i Follow us: @DailyMirror on Twitter | DailyMirror on Facebook That is a **** load of money.
Guess this means that Ash Williams will go into a big sulk because he's not being paid the same. He might also decide to see his contract out so he can try and sort out the same kind of deal on a free transfer. Just speculating of course. I'm very surprised that financial details have been released though and even more surprised by the figures quoted (if correct). I just hope that we don't intend to finance the deal by selling Bony. He's now a proven goal scorer in the Premier League and Gomis is not. If we keep both then well done Jenkins and the board.
Did i hear right from bbc commentator that we are looking at ecuador no5....sorry dont recall his name. Just heard him say swansea fans would be interested.....
No word on Michu, but there is word of replacements... Not along the lines of Michu, but someone far more important to us. Think Leon. Think long term. Think club and player match made in heaven. The rumour was true.
Nope, little 'Joniesta' apparently. Jonny Williams. We could start hearing things in the next week. Additionally, Emyr Huws could be coming home on loan.
Far too many rumors and speculations going on with the press where they contradict themselves most of the time, It's best to ignore everything atm and only believe what is announced on the swans official web site. The press dont know anything other than rumors just like me and you and i bet if any of us were to make up a story now and put it on twitter and Facebook the press will publish it within a few hours.. We will only know what has transpired on our official web site and who reports back for pre season training in a couple of weeks time and that is the time we will find who has joined and who has left....
I really do hope Gomis bangs 15+ goals a season in for us as that's the kind of wages we're paying him. Welcome Bafetimbi and good luck.
well that's one we can put to bed now, great signing and if emms joins us we will have twins for the first time
