Very disappointed, especially as I suspect the price was agreed before the WC and will probably not be near 34 million.

 

Although kinda expecting this at some stage, it has taken me by surprise this evening, just woke up after a 20 minute nap. God damn it.

 

How are we supposed to progress. Young players come through,have a good season or two,move to a bigger club.rinse and repeat......

 

Luke Shaw is not worth 34m to our team. A good deal for all concerned. LB for around 10m with Targett as backup, then around 20m to use on other areas of the team as well as what we already had allotted to spend.

We all move on, realising that this 'meltdown' is really just more of a transitional phase. New board, new manager, new five year plan, new look for the team. No panic.
