He was away then. Ref stopped a perfectly good breakaway.

The German defender went down all too easy.

He was entitled to go down there, clever play and a good decision.

Well if i was Steve Bruce id think a 2yr deal 8kp/w with a nice hefty 1mill bonus for prem league survival package for 3.5mill would be good business!

So that's it, then. The second round of the World Cup will not feature...

    Ibrahimovic
    Falcao
    Suarez
    Ronaldo
    Smalling
    Xavi
    Iniesta
    Yaya Toure

    Bizarre.

    Never said he wasn't clever.

Just wasn't a foul. Ref bought it.

He is only 25 and the normal CB for the US national team. I am sure that if we sold him in 3 years back to an MLS club that we would make a profit on him as well. In the same way that Bradley cost so much to Toronto, Gonzalez would be worth a lot of money to an MLS club after having played in England.

Very happy the USA have gone through.

I genuinely did have a feeling pre-WC that Portugal wouldn't get through the group, though out of Ghana and USA I had no idea of who would take their place.

I'm glad that guess has paid dividends.

Gonzalez actually just got a raise sorry. He now makes $28,000 a week so 16,000 pounds a week.

Happy for you Ellewoods, hope it carries on.

I also don't like Ronaldo, so even happier.

Great game. Massive achievement, getting out of the Group of Death and getting to the round of 16 for the 2nd consecutive time which had never happened before. Needed this to keep the sport in the US going forward.

I do hope Brady is okay, I mean, we know he's a very distressed boy, and seeing his boyfriend eliminated from the WC could do dangerous things to him.

There is no "I" in team, but there is an "I" in pie. And there's an "I" in meat pie. Anagram of meat is team... I don't know what I'm getting at here.
