With the double signing of Mark Little and Wade Elliott at least we are off and running, we now know after reading it in the E/P that Cott's has an action plan, to retain our quality players, it's to play attacking football next season, be in the running for promotion with a smaller, more skilful, age balanced squad, with a much stronger youth program to back it up.. He has announced his next moves in the transfer market will be to sign a.. * Goalkeeper.. * Winger.. * Central defender.. * Striker.. And he is likely to ship out Adam El - Abd as soon as possible.. It's great to have a man with a plan... http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/Steve-...eals-Bristol/story-21277247-detail/story.html
I love Steve Cotterill, really great guy and has a connection with the fans, really hope he is the guy to lead us forward and back into the championship. According to Stockhausen their COULD be another signing this week or next so I imagine we are in talks with someone. I reckon it will be a keeper, either Moore back for another season or Declan Rudd (hopeful thinking)
And me... I think he is a bit of a star!! Fingers crossed he leads on too a very successful time in our history!!
And me, but this season is a big one for both Cotts and the team We've had our season of adjustment back in L1, but we need to show that real progress on and off the field has been made. Anything below a top 6 finish wont be acceptable.
Some of us have expressed our concerns since end of last season that City and SC have not appeared to be very active in strengthening our squad for the coming season. Well, the Bristol City management team, Cotterill, Burt, and the Lansdowns could be likened to an iceberg: you see very little of it's substance until, like the Titanic, it suddenly shows its power. Three quality recruits in one week before the end of June shows how hard everyone has been working behind the glare of the media. Well done City management! And maybe more nice surprises to follow?
'There's a few on OTIB!!' All he's proved is he's better than SOD, no more. Hallelujah. The 3 signings are very encouraging but that's all, encouraging. Until Freeman and Little have kicked a ball for us the jury will be out. Cotterill's stellar defensive signing Al Abd was hailed by all - he's the worst we've seen in a very long time. A few are saying how wonderful Cotterill is for getting rid. Who signed him FFS ? Victor.
All a manager can do ultimately is speculate, because it's the players who determine whether success or failure
