the post yesterday said will take a further 3-4 weeks for a decision. the thread about higgs saying they are always ready to listen to the fans <ok>

couple of weeks ago wycombe chairman said at the start of that week in an EGM to their fans that he was due to have a meeting with the FA that thursday and a decision should be made early the following week. well we didnt hear a decision, we just had confirmation that the FA was still investigating.

so did their chairman lie to his fans at their EGM or did he actually think a decision would be quick because he was confident?
he is so sure wycombe have done no wrong so why hasnt the FA dismissed the complaint by now? obviously the FA must have some evidence from rovers that gives them concern to take so long in making a decision.

the FA dont seem to show any urgency. if it takes 4 weeks from now that just 2 weeks from the 1st game of the season!

i havent go my hopes up at all but surely if the FA havent dismissed the complaint, they must have some something to investigate!

i still think higgs is more interested in a compensation pay out from whoever than get reinstatement.

I expect the fa have been preoccupied with the events in Brazil but now England are out they might get back on the case

I agree that the Wycombe chairman is taking a stance of no case to answer but I think Higgs is using the issue to deflect attention.
If we were reinstated (unlikely the longer it goes on) he has a get out of jail card

Most of the senior FA investigative panel have probably been riding the gravy train in Brazil. Now they are back it will probably be a decision made sooner rather than later otherwise I can see Higgs trying to sue the FA for not acting or giving the matter the utmost attention which has caused (in his own mind) us to have been hung out to dry and only a financial and points penalty if Wycombe are found guilty. Basically the longer this goes on I can see it being a lose lose situation as Wycombe could be penalised financially and by a points reduction and we are a bit better off financially but that's it.

My brother in law is a football rules anorak. He argues that after the end of season AGMs for the Football League and the Conference it is not possible within the rules as laid down for any movement of clubs up or down the leagues.
So he is certain that no action in terms of relegation or otherwise can possibly be put in place for last season's misdemeanors, should there be any.

plus Coventry still have a quarrel with the stadium owners and that was a condition of them completing last season

But all of the conditions on those decisions were in place before the AGMs took place.

plus Coventry still have a quarrel with the stadium owners and that was a condition of them completing last seaon

If Coventry disband or are omitted, their league will play one team short.

In both cases the conclusion was put forward by the anorak.

Honest question lads, does anyone on here actually believe in anyway that you lot would be put back in the league?

Isn't it just your Chairman trying to deflect the attention?

I'm not taking the micky, just asking a genuine question.

It's difficult to assess as we don't really have a clue about the detail of the complaint against Wycombe.

To any football board there are two aspects.

    1. They are probably keen supporters of the club and are keen to achieve the best in terms of team performance. That's not to say they always get it right!

    2. They are probably successful in their own business field and will protect their own financial interests if they feel they have a legal case.

I agree with that and TBH, no i don't think we will be reinstated.
The fixtures are out and Wycombe's home games all clash with C!ty so if there was any chance then the FA would have planned that better. It's going to cause too much messing about.

Also, if Rovers were disadvantaged, so was every other team. Those promoted don't care but it could have cost other teams who just missed out or TQ who were also relegated, so why is no one else backing Rovers? or maybe they are but Bucks Press are calling it RoversGate not cheating Wycombe gate

This is just about monet now is my opinion.

I dont think you will find any gashead who actually think we have or even had a chance. When this broke out that Higgs was making a complaint about Wycombe, you will see all comments from gasheads over different forums that we were appalled by Higgs doing this as it stunk of sour grapes. We deserved to go down. That simple.

However little bits of info was coming out to the public and this info is very confusing as some of it contradict other things or just dont make sense at all.

4 years ago was the incident but it only came to light a few months ago and Wycombe got fined £10k. Higgs made his complaint a week or 2 after the FA decision to fine Wycombe. Did Higgs complain that fine was too lenient suggesting there should have been a points deduction?? It came across this way at first. And If this was the case, surely a decision by the FA would have been made by now, like, increasing the fine, adding a transfer embargo, points deduction or even saying £10k fine was correct and no change will be made. Surely a decision would have been made by now if this was just the complaint!

We have been informed by the FA that they are still investigating. What are they actually investigating? This suggests that Higgs aint just complaining that the £10k was wrong but there are other issues. What other issues?

We have all seen the statement by Higgs suggests that Rovers were at a disadvantage which dont make sense. How can Rovers be at a disadvantage over something that happened 4 years ago? Well the letter from Rovers solictors sent to the FA stated there are other Wycombe players involved in 3rd party ownership not just that 1 player from 4 years ago and these other players are still playing wycombe. So if Rovers solicitors are correct then the rules are still be broken by Wycombe. Is this what Higgs means about Rovers being at a disadvantage to Wycombe last season? Could this be why the FA are taking ages?

Reading bits from elsewhere, 'apparently' Wycombe have paid back certain fees to certain people regarding players involved in 3rd party ownership. These fees were kept 'apparently' off the books meaning when it came to the FFP rules, having certain outgoings kept off record, that gave Wycombe an advantage over Rovers and the rest of the league. If this is correct then Rovers were at a disadvantage. If you have 23 teams abiding by the FFP rules and 1 team who breaks those rules and that 1 team relegates you on goal difference, you can see why Higgs is doing what he is doing.

If Wycombe didnt sign anyone last season then there would be no issue as there would be no advantage. But they did sign players last season. If their true outgoings was being adhered to then they wouldnt be able to sign as many players and pay as much in wages etc. If this is the case then surely Wycombe have something to answer for and you can see why Higgs believes Rovers and the league were at a disadvantage.

Yes we deserve to go down but if a team is breaking the rules then the proper channels need to be followed otherwise what is the point of having the rules?

The fact that the FA are still investigating shows Higgs does have a case. Its not an ideal way of getting back into the league of course and I believe no gashead would want us to be back in league 2 this way. But if Wycombe or any team found breaking rules need to get punished properly.

My personal opinion is that I think Wycombe will be found guilty of something its taking too long for it to be a dismissal. But their punishment wont relegate and wont reinstate Rovers. And as a result of Wycombe being found guilty, Higgs will claim some compensation from the FA. The agent involved who gave this info to Rovers have apparently made the FA aware about all the ongoings at Wycombe but the FA failed to do anything about it apart from the £10k fine and just ignored the other things. I dont think even Higgs is expecting to be reinstated. This is just about money now. Higgs is hoping for a good pay out blaming the FA for not acting correctly at the time. If Higgs didnt complain to the FA about this and then the story came out next year for example, you would get fans saying why didnt Higgs complain to try and get reinstated or get compensation. He is damned if he did and damned if he didnt try.

Just because we talk about whats going on between Rovers and Wycombe doesnt mean we agree with what is going on or is even expecting to be reinstate. I dont think anyone is expecting to be reinstated <ok>

Fair play and thank you for the reply. My only comment further is about you saying 23 teams abiding by FFS and one not is why Haggs is doing it..... but isn't that what Man City & PSG done in their respective leagues? Things haven't changed for them and they have both been fined the equivalent of Wycombe's fine....

wycombe has been fined for an issue with 3rd party ownership not for breaking ffp rules. we dont even know if they have even broken ffp rules. its all guess work.
and if they were fined for ffp rules, champions league rules for ffp is different to football league rules.
like i said, i dont think any gashead actually believe we will get reinstated <ok>

Not that I hold any hope off a reverse from The Freebie Loaders at the FA (yes thats about all the jolly boys there do, sweet FA !!!!). So why the F7ck are they taking so long over this saga ? Answers on a postcard please (and not from Brazil but I guess the big wigs could still be over there on there freebie seeing how well some European teams continue to perform0 but as always not the promising princes known as Engerland .

So back to the question when is a bloody end to this sorry escapade by our board who like to pay more for Lawyers than for Scouts that long term could be of real benefit to the Club.

I'm surprised your board hasn't given any indication of what they genuinely think will happen. Is there no news from them. Our board has given assurances but then they also stated on TV that the sale was going ahead so "exciting times ahead".

Ron, us here in The West Country and beyond we Gasheads and supporters of Rovers are treated with utter contempt by the inept board that run OUR Football Club, in fact we have been for years. My guess is that the Fat Controller and his Merry Bunch of Fellow Suit Merchants view us as at the best Mushrooms, in fact I lie just like a cheap Chinese watch as at least Mushrooms get fed on sh%t and kept in the dark, our board just keep us in the dark.

Might be exciting times for your crew but I personally dont share the same sentiment with this bunch of jesters at ours. Good luck for the future at least you can smile, I and no doubt many fellow Gasheads are gritting their teeth with the continued pain. Put us out of our misery and face it its time for big changes at Boardroom Level, if this was a real workplace as Mr Sugar would say "your fired" and so they bloody well should be.

As has been said before. There must be more to this than has been out in the open so far. It's just going on too long. Woodward's said nothing really, other than putting on a brave face. Our guys have made it clear that they are going to say nothing more until a decision is made.

Mowgli, I personally think Higgs feels a bit like HM Queen in as much as no one can do the job as well as him (or in her case Her !), well thats a load of old tosh as look at the job he has done during his tenure in Office.

If I was conducting his appraisal I am afraid it would be along the lines of inefficient communicator who when he does open his mouth shows no empathy to others. One mouth, 2 ears but sadly fails to understand the importance of using them in the correct balance. Consistently fails to deliver on objectives set. Needs to be put on an action plan in order to improve all round performance. Suggest 2 months to deliver on agreed objectives and then then . Meantime careful monitoring to establish clearly is it an attitude or application issue with this individual ?

I sadly think that he is too self centered to walk the plank although if the New Stadium goes the same way as the on field activities my guess is that Gasheads will no longer stand for the constant promises that are never meet. There must be someone with links to Bristol who has a genuine desire and ambition to turn this Club around. It plainly is not the existing Officers of the Watch that's a certainty.

Sapphire with the fixture lists produced the FA, Football League and other body involved will do nothing to upset the apple cart and cause disruption to the Clubs who are good enough to play League Football. Yes maybe a suspended points deduction and a fine for WW but that will be the lot. As for Rovers, more money down the drain like the compo payments to the long list of duffers we have had potraying them selves as Managers, all who have been appointed by ????????????? Well it was not the Supporters was it ?
