What would you call England, Wales and Northern Ireland if Scotland leaves the United Kingdom?
(Contributions from non-British posters are most welcome)

It'll still be the U.K I suspect but if people wanted it changed it may well be just Great Britain. Never liked having different names anyway - bit like Netherlands and Holland. Pick one for god's sake!

I don't think the U.K will be a shambles if they left but Scotland could be in a pickle - it'll mean even closer ties to Europe for them and that'll mean financial integration and the Euro because there's not a cat's chance in hell they'll be allowed to keep the pound. Good luck with that.

Btw I'll be amazed if they vote for it.

Still the United Kingdom, just with Scotland cut from the title. Also the flag will almost certainly remain the same.

The flag should be changed as Scotland is represented on the Jack.

Europe said they would be placed under the same application procedure as all other countries, minimum of 10 years to wait as proof of a stable economy and political system etc.

NATO on the otherhand have flat out refused to allow Scotland to join them as they will have no army, Air Force or Navy in place and there was something else they missed the requirement with.

All in all they have told Salmond he can take his freeloading cock and shove it up his arse.

I think you'll find most people very much do care. You're talking about the breakup of our country. There will always be some who are ambivalent though which is a shame imo.

Saw some polls today showing that even if every single undecided voter in Scotland went with the yes vote they'd still fall short.

    Ain't gonna happen.

If Scotland go it alone then they will go bankrupt in a very short time and it will be the rest of the UK that will have to bale them out. It's absolutely crazy to think they can go it alone just like it would be for any of us...

My own view is not that the Scots won't manage financially in the short term because they'll have the oil or a while. There are bigger questions about currency, defence and so on that remain unanswered. For that reason they won't vote for it.

Give people a valid alternative and they may well support it. If you dont they won't.
