LFc can't accommodate both in their team any more than bayern can accommodate robben, ribery and shaqiri... or any more than cheslea can accommodate 12 players in 3 roles...

its that simple. we'll hopefully get one but please remember its all press specualtion until we actually make an offer.

    agree,

i have a horrible feeling its all wishful thinking.

we need to start thinking about life maybe without luis (even though i disagree, as everyone would be arguing why should Uruguay be punished if he done this in a liverpool shirt)

if he doesnt get a world wide ban, we need to hope we can get rid somehow, talented player, but i am getting fed up of all the bullshit that comes with it.

we know we will get wummed by rivals whatever happens because of the club we are, but this ****e is taking it to a whole new level.

world wide bans are also wishful thinking. it is a football incident so don't go nuts until you know.. .don't fall for the frenzy of wishful thinking.

I kept saying sell last year, and said if real ponied up sell as he's going on 28 and every player has a price.

Hypothetically, I think that if Suarez goes then Shaquiri, Moreno and Sanchez would go a long way to replace him. Shaquiri would interchange with Sterling / Coutinho (he can do both roles, as can Sterling, although Coutihno is better in the middle), Moreno would sort out our left back position and Sanchez (who reminds me of the younger, rawer Suarez, from the last world cup) would be almost a like-for-like swap with Suarez, playing off Sturridge.

If Suarez stays, looking unlikely, though, then I still feel Shaquiri and Moreno would be very decent signings. And, providing we don't pay too much, I'd still like Lallana. He's two-footed, very versatile, can play anywhere across the midfield or even off the striker, closes down well and is athletic. In short, all the players mentioned fit what BR likes in players: technically good, tactically adaptable, hard-working and athletic.

We've also been liked with a few decent CBs too. Which I can take or leave, as I think the CBs we have are adequate, if we sort out LB and RB roles.

Spoke to my mate last night. Apparently, when 'sounded out' Sanchez was rather luke warm about joining us. He knew nothing about Shaqiri. Sanchez may have no choice in the matter.

If Suarez is money plus Sanchez then you're right that he'll have no option. A few European nights at Anfield though and he won't want to leave. <ok> As far as Shaquiri goes, if your mate doesn't know anything then it's clearly a done deal! <diva> <whistle>

    Sounds hopeful.....

The Swiss footballer, who scored three goals today in the World Cup, is liked by Milan and Roma, but Liverpool has the advantage over the other teams.

Shaqiri’s brother, who is also his agent is currently in England to meet with Liverpool’s management and discuss the economic details of the contract.

His departure from Bayern Munich is close, Shaqiri appears to be heading to the Premier League.

    And this is disappointing...
    ----------------------------------

Sevilla sporting director, Monchi has confirmed that negotiations over the sale of Spanish international left-back, Alberto Moreno to Liverpool are dead and that the player will remain with the club this coming season.

In an interview with El Correo del Andalusia, Monchi clearly states that negotiations have broken down to the point where they cannot recover and is delighted to have Moreno back in the fold ahead of their Europa League title defence.

“The matter of Alberto is practically settled. We couldn’t reach an agreement and I don’t think it can be revived.

“It was great offer, but the player is only 21 years old and it’s possible that the catharsis of being with the national team had a positive effect. He has a lot of room to grow and the coach is very happy to have him. I don’t think we’ll make a lot of moves, but if on 14th August a club comes along and says “Vitolo” and they give you a mountain of cash, well….I know you don’t like to hear it, but we are economic managers.

“My feeling is that the negotiations are paralyzed and I don’t see any hint that they will be restarted. We put a price on our players which we believe to be appropriate. Whoever wants to buy, can buy, and if you can’t…Also, with the sale of Rakitic, our needs were covered. We don’t have the burden we had at other times.”

Monchi went on to add that he is confident that there will be very little movement this summer and could even pen the starting line-up for next season.

“If we open my notebook, I have written down a very rough roster, we see Coke, Diogo, Fazio, Nico, Botia, Daniel Carrico, Alberto and Fernando Navarro. That’s my idea and all I can say is that today we have no offers, serious offers. Nor do we spend all day waiting…Thank God we are financially well of and don’t have the need to sell.”
    ------------------------------------

Perhaps we should look at Rodriquez instead

Was I mistaken or did our beloved LFC say they want fast action in the transfer market, preferably before the WC started? I'm sure I read something to that effect. I agreed with it, and thought it sensible as possible targets could escalate in price. Clearly this has happened (Rojo, Sanchez and Shaquiri alll having great WCs) and we have only had one transfer (two, if Can is definite) to date. Our slowness in securing transfers is slightly concerning. Having said that, I remain upbeat. :)

That Belgian lad that scored for them in their... first/second game. Looks like another Lukaku.

They eat their Weetabix in Belgium obviously.

He looks a big talent but as yet is obviously unproven. Seems like a 'we're buying so noone else can' move.
