Working in IT, I'm interested in what people prefer to use. Yes, I am a geek and it doesn't need repeating.

Personally, I have always been a PC man and a Windows user (although now I'm more of a Linux man). Discuss here which you prefer and why.

NB. No flames please and if you believe one is better than the other please say why.

I like Linux because I'm a tinkerer and I love the freedom it gives me. Also I find it more secure and stable and I like learning new things, which is what every day is like as a Linux user.

Yes I'm sure they are, Windows is a leaky snot-bucket by comparison.

I believe you may have caught them at a bad time. You know techies ...

Had a Windows machine at home, and used to work on a Linux machine. New job gave me a mac laptop, so that's what i'm using now.

Having used them all, Windows is my least favourite. Linux was excellent for my work, but I would be a little worried about having to be my own sysadmin 100% of the time if I had a Linux machine here. The tinkering is nice, but it slows you down a lot...

So now i'm on the mac, which is a very nice machine. Gives me an easy-to-use machine, and i can delve into the Unix side of the OS to do my work. Very expensive - I don't think i would spend my own money on one. But they are super nice!

Really? iTunes is ok, but i still prefer good ol' Winamp!

Mac. I don't anyone who owns a mac who'd ever consider going back to PC. Just a much, much better product.

For a price... I don't think that they are worth the extra to be honest. Don't get me wrong, very slick, easy to use, very nice product as you say. But so expensive. If I was buying a machine with my own money, I would get a top-spec PC and live with windows... (or maybe take the plunge into Linux)
