My choices (today at least) are:

    Baba O'Riley - The Who
    Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd
Into The Mystic - Van Morrison
One Day Like This - Elbow
Tinseltown In The Rain - Blue Nile

Please don't post videos, as there is already a thread for that.

Yep me too. Forgot the Zep, Sly & Robbie and Bowie. 8 tracks not many to capture the soul of your life. Oh and I forgot Creedence too.

    That's against the rules.

Maybe after enough replies we give ourselves another go.

My youngest lad's like this too; they sing along 'buzz off Chelsea, buzz off!' when it's on in the car.

    They're only 3 and 5 - and think shut up is a 'swear'! <laugh>

    Good thread Stroller,

For me this is going to take some thinking about. Like many I have enjoyed so much good music that picking just 8 songs/tracks is a big big ask. I will now try and pick the magic 8.

Impossible really, how do you pick just eight? I could pick a different eight every day depending on my mood and still miss out a load, here's today's in no particular order:

Who Do You Love? - Juicy Lucy
    Stargazer - Rainbow
Hard Lovin' Man - Deep Purple
House Burning Down - Jimi Hendrix
Edie (Ciao Baby) - The Cult
    Hurry on Sundown - Hawkwind
    Tuesday's Gone - Lynyrd Skynyrd
When the Levee Breaks - Led Zeppelin

Be a different list tomorrow, but for today:

    Higher Love - Steve Winwood
    Dr Mabuse - Propoganda
    Mr Jones - Psychedelic Furs
Dock Of The Bay - Otis Redding
    Little Bitch - The Specials
    My Girl - Madness
    The Pretender - Foo Fighters
    I Wish - Stevie Wonder

Edit: it's so difficult to settle on eight, i've decided I have to have Tears For Fears' Everybody Wsnts To Rule The World, but I can't pick which one I am going to drop...

Better Days Ahead - Pat Metheny Group
Race with Devil on Spanish Highway - Al di Meola
    So What - Miles Davis
Who Knows - Band of Gypsys (Jimi Hendrix)
    House Of Cards - Radiohead
Rastaman Vibration - Bob Marley & The Wailers
I Won't Back Down - Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers
I Who Have Nothing - Tom Jones

Wow, that was painful. If I was asked the same question in 10min I would most likely have a completely different list.
