Choice of matches today: 5pm (ITV): Nigeria v Argentina or B&H v Iran! No contest. I'll watch Messi et al. 9pm (BBC): Honduras v Switzerland or Ecuador v France. Trickier. Watch our potential signing Shaquiri for Switzerland or, as I've not seen any of their games yet, France? Mmm. Still not sure. Choices, choices! #lovingtheworldcupexceptforourshittyteam
Easy choice, the France game. Swiss and Honduras will be a borefest. But what do I know, not a single correct predicted scoreline yet
Yeah, crazy last minute penalty, coolly buried by Samaras(?) Shame IC are out, but both them and Greece were likely to be out by the QFs, anyway.
i agree chance are last 16 but greece can defend for pens... they are the type but at least it brings the european quotient in last 16 up...
When I watched Greece lose their opening game 3-0 with some Greek friends I was a bit smug about how England would go further in the tournament. How ****ing long ago does that opening round seem now?
The fact they have gone through, and we haven't, isn't nearly as inexplicable as when they won the Euro's. They were in a pretty poor group, though.
You recording it then, or just catching what you can of the first match, and then watching the whole second match?
Sensible. At this stage of the world cup most people are just willing the group stages over to get into more the exciting knockout phase.
Just seen the Colombia highlights, Anyone else think that James RodrÃguez is going to be the next big thing (hate to use the term 'the next Messi'). Can see there be alot of talk about him in a few years and clubs like Real and Barca wanting him
He definitely has the potential. His last goal against Japan showed his tremendous skill and composure in the box, especially for a young player a top event.
