Good morning all from an overcast but very warm Weston-super-Mare. We are guaranteed heavy rain by the weekend, whoever heard of a dry Glastonbury Festival? Have a good day!
Morning all from a bright and sunny France. I have a border to clear for Mme before it becomes to warm, as it has brambles growing up in it. I think the birds sit on the fence and dispense seeds.
Wow! I get about 50! Planning to replace them this winter with the cuttings that are doing well. More strawbs today, Mrs. S talking about jam.
Morning all, day off today as I'm attending the leavers assembly for eldest at 2.40 this afternoon with refreshments on the College Lawn afterwards. Although it's a day off, I've already been to the Tax and Social Security offices which are opposite ends of St. Helier, dropped a suit off at the dry cleaner and done my shopping and it was 21 degrees about an hour ago. Not looking forward to the walk to the College this afternoon as it's up a steep hill. On top of that, I've got a softball match at 6.30! It's in a corporate league and as this is our first season, it's more about gaining understanding of the game and improving performances.
Well I don't want to go round in a circle or off on a tangent here, but it would actually be an ark should you complete it.......
A mornings weeding I thought little knowing what I would find. My outbuildings by the house are the old village blacksmiths forge and a barn/stable. When the fork bounced back at me I guessed I had found a stone. After digging down I found a pipe surrounded in concrete. I guess that at one time it was to drain the stable, but the floor has been concreted over so it no longer has a purpose. I have had the heavy banging equipment out to remove the concrete around the pipe and it is currently 29°C. Time for a cold beer that I feel is deserved.
Morning all from a dry and warm Weston-super-Mare. This is our last dry day before the Glastonbury rains arrive overnight tonight! Have a good day!
Cricket match rained off last night due to the first rain for 2 weeks. Cancellation was done at the 11th hour after which the rain stopped. Felot sorry for Anderson but his batting mates should have done a lot better.
Morning all, risk of a storm this afternoon says the man from the Metéo. Hope he is wrong, but wouldn't mind a drop of rain. Looks as if Oxford could be in trouble if the man in this story gets his hands on the club. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/28018779
