I can officially announce that Dan and I are devastated that today we said goodbye, not only to A Boob A Car from Cameroon, but also Boob A Car from the Ivory Coast.

Now what are we meant to do?

Greece are anti-football. I dislike them very much. And my poor boss Andy from Cote de Ivoire... His mood just got worse.

Well would you rather spend £18m on Caulker and Marshall or £20-25m on Bony?

There'll be a boob name in the rest of the squads somewhere, right? :( Maybe not Aboubakar or Boubacar, but somewhere, there must be :(

No, no no no, no, no, no, oh God please no.

But I don't think those are our only two options. ;)

I'd fairly happily take Bony for less than £20m, although I'm not that infatuated with him. But even if we coughed up whatever they wanted for him I'm not convinced he'd want to come. If he wants to make a move to a big club in the next few seasons coming to us is absolutely not in his interests because our sale price having spent likely £20m+ on him would put off big teams. So we'd have to do some Cortese-style hypnosis on him to get him believing we can get into the CL in the near future or he'd have to just be happy taking a small step up from a lower mid-table team to an upper mid-table team. Certainly not beyond the realm of possibility but I don't think it's a case of 'He's there, we can afford him, let's get him. Easy peasy.'

We could get Bony, Caulker and Marshall for the price of Shaw.

I'd be very tempted to keep Shaw in that scenario. Marshall I thought was very good last year but keeper isn't that high on my priorities, I'm more in favour of getting an adequate number two who can at least make some semblance of a challenge for Boruc's spot, if we can pick up someone better on the cheap then great but I'm not particularly concerned with splurging for a new number one. Caulker I just don't rate at all, from what I've seen/read from Cardiff fans he was really not very good. And Bony I like but am not in love with, he's certainly enticing but I've waffled on before how I believe it's important for us to make a stand now and keep our best academy produced-players if we want to achieve anything greater than mid-table or else the conveyor belt from Staplewood to the top clubs will just keep rolling so he doesn't quite coax me into selling Luke.

I'd much rather get Bony for £20 odd million (Though I still don't think he'd be chomping at the bit to come), then bring in a winger in the J-Rod mould but a leftie and a cheap CB and keeper for whatever we have left in the kitty and can scrounge from selling Osvaldo to any suckers that want him.

If Astori is still knocking about for around £8m, I'd take him above Caulker any day of the week. He and Van Dijk would make me extremely happy. (And Bony).
