Actually enjoyed this game, shame Ivory Coast haven't gone through though.

Ivory Coast have really under performed in this tournament to be honest though. On the night, the Greeks did deserve it. I just can't believe, after watching that woeful 0-0 draw with Japan, that Greece are through though.

I'd actually be really disappointed NOT to get Bony this summer - it's such a no-brainer, and he's gettable.......

They've basically replaced him already so he's going somewhere.

    Greece <smooch>

I see many here don't condone the way the Greeks are playing, but I admire them. They don't have the quality, but they're passionate, they play with their heart, and with their desire they're overcoming all their limitations.

That's Costa Rica in the quarters for me. One of the biggest World Cup shocks ever, if not the biggest.

I'd imagine he'd be just a little bit pricey though, upwards of £25m

Is he though? Surely Swansea aren't going to be letting him go for less than £20-25m and when he could very feasibly be attracting much bigger clubs is he particularly realistic?

23 substitutes have now scored in this tournament. Take notes Hodgson.

Happy to see Greece go through. They have great spirit and determination.

I don't see any of these much bigger clubs making moves just yet Mikey - I really think he's the level of player we should at least be aiming for and trying for if we're serious about progression. He's a made-to-mould Rickie replacement almost, and the type of player that should we sign (even for those figures) may persuade the Lovren/Lallana/Shaw of this world to consider not moving on. Sure, someone bigger could come along and gazump us, but I'd rather be going for Bony-esque players than Pelle and Immers.

South American, or Central American sides with Costa Rica's case, are looking very good in this World Cup. Of the 8 teams through so far (to make up the 4 last 16 games finalised), just Greece and Holland are from Europe, and 6 are from South/Central America.

    Argentina also through of course.

Nope. Costa Rica have been much better than Greece. They may not coast past them but I see them winning.
