That's the thing though, obviously we don't know him personally, but by all accounts he's a lovely caring shy family guy away from football. You see it a lot where as soon as someone crosses the white line, they become a totally different person. Not saying it couldn't happen, but he doesn't seem the type to do something stupid like that outside of football.

  2. I see this as a bit of a win-win TBH. Sure, he's bit someone which is clearly unacceptable but he's done it before and will probably do it again so already has the reputation anyway. He knows how to deal with it and last time he produced the season of his career immediately afterwards. On top of that, a lot of clubs will have been put off buying him. If one comes along still and coughs up the release clause, we get rid of a bad apple. If not, we keep the third best player in the world. #realproblems

    Well... I think I'd wear a cup!

Personally... I don't think Suarez should have been more leniently treated after the bite... I think people who punch, kick, headbutt, squeeze balls etc, should be treated more harshly.

Any deliberate act of violence should be treated harshly.

So is Craig Bellamy... fantastic guy, he is a huge contributor to charity too... yet, how many times has he got himself in trouble over the years?

I think "normal" Suarez- is the person you describe. On the field, you don't see "normal" Suarez- you see "fired-up" Suarez. It's what makes him so good- all that passion and drive and unpredictability.

That "fired-up" side of Suarez is probably rare off-the-field; but he obviously has that side of him that sees-red. It's not completely beyond the realm of possibility that it could flair up off the field.

What do you think would happen if he came home and saw John Terry and Ryan Giggs in his bedroom wearing his wife's nighties?

It's his flowing locks that do it for me...

and Greez - yes win win, assuming he doesn't get banned from Liverpool games and manages to deal with the reaction he'll get in the same way he has this year.

  10. He won't get a domestic ban. Twenty-four games or two years is the maximum ban, which ever expires first. Its not going to include domestic football is it? It would never get near two years, four months maximum <laugh>

I'm actually pretty happy about this, means all our top players are now out of the world cup!!! that means less people trying to temt them away and no chance of further injury, especially with Suarez who just had surgery ffs.
Now we can sit back relax for a bit before getting the team together early ready for next season. I'm pretty sure Suarez's advertising career will get another boost, as he now truly is the bad boy of football.

Quotes from the Mirror so who knows about the accuracy:

After the game Suarez, speaking to Uruguyan TV, said: "These situations happen on the field. I had contact with his shoulder, nothing more. Things like that happen all the time."

Asked about the prospect of FIFA action against him, Suarez said: "I don't know anything about that. If FIFA analyse each case separately, it's going to be complicated."

  19. Maybe Suarez didn't see him stood there. Was Chelliani wearing grey?
