It's frustrating and even a little embarrassing seeing some of the comments from fellow Spurs fans on these boards. Listen you've made a sound appointment , us Spurs fans have nothing to boast about after our boards disgraceful treatment of Jol as far as I am concerned. I'm hoping we (+ Levy & co) will have learnt from that experience. Good luck to your new manager and team next season, I think you'll achieve great things together
A good appointment for you lot, i just hope your mad russian lets him get on with the job. best of luck this year.
White hot lane...... Why can't you just accept the fact that he is a great manager who many hope will succeed. You get that impression from other Spurs, arsenal and norwich fans posting on this thread yet you seem to insist that this will all end in tears. Chelsea were on the point of relegation when roman was appointed due to our financial situation. At that point we were just moving up to the champions league but in the years before this, we had some rotten years. These are great years now for us chelsea fans so just get over it, move on and see you next season...
I hope Abramovic gives him time because he's young and seems like a decent sort. Sucess comes with time and stability. Villas-Boas is well placed to offer that if Chelsea don't sack him before he's had a decent chance. Normally when you pay £13million for someone's services, you aren't too hasty to sack them, but time will tell.
I heard this new guy on the radio interview this morning and was very impressed. Hope you lads do well in seasons to come; think he will be a greay signing.
i presume you meant great but cheers anyway.. even hull fans wishing us well... i wonder if the spuds will ever follow suit???
I agree. From what I've read, he seems like the first manager Chelsea have had that will have a real productive go at dismantling Mourinho's Lampard and Drogba focused system and properly rebuilding Chelsea in his own style. I doubt that will happen overnight, and you may get a couple of disappointing seasons whilst everything clicks. If Abramovich can resist the temptation to hit the ejector button in this time, then you may come out the other side not only as a more successful and entertaining side, but also one that can achieve long term success without regular injections of outside funds. That's a scary thought for people who were hoping FFP would be the death of Chelsea.
Agreed. Until we give a manager a little bit more time and freedom, how is for instance, the youth project ever going to come to fruition?? We cant keep buying the finished product and expect to become profitable. Has to be a bit of a better balance.
**** me sideways. This is history in the making.... Ginge agrees with Swarbs, negating Swarbs' 4 point quoted reply that breaks down the arguement into relevant segments, each one argued on it's own merit which then in turn leaves Ginge powerless to steam back in at Swarbs...and so it goes on... I really have seen it all...and only since January as well. Steven Hawkins eat your heart out pal. The...universe...is...****ing...massive...
