Don't explain yourself to this prig, Gerrez. He got the answer to his question immediately, but because it doesn't involve all of us prostrating ourselves to his superior moral standing he's just asking the same question again and again like the witless, broken gramophone that he is. I really haven't seen that tbh .......... laughing it off just makes you look bad in my honest opinion.

I grew up watching football in the Shankly years and I doubt he would be laughing it off.

I suppose that's the most upsetting thing for me, no one seems to have any self respect or principles in football any more.

 

Not wanting to try and justify the biting but Cantona was arrested and convicted of assault. It doesn't matter what the prick was saying to him, assaulting a paying member of the audience will always be considered worse than what happens on the pitch in a competitive sport. Also should be noted that it was a domestic ban from the FA not FIFA and that the worldwide ban meant he couldn't play in other domestic leagues abroad if he was sold.

The maximum punishment according to FIFA would be 2 years or 24 international matches. However the longest ban in World Cup history was eight games for Italy's Mauro Tassotti for breaking Spain's Luis Enrique's nose in 1994 with an elbow.

 

Question; do you remember Maradona as a great player or a drug users? Do you remember Zidane as a great player or the one that headbutted an Italian in the World Cup final? Do you remember Cantona as a great player or for kicking a fan?

 

Ah so, you finally get to the blame bit. What about football fans in general who hate his diving and his feigning of injury. Is that the press's fault? He has nowt to blame the media for. You really are beyond belief. He's out of this world as a footballer, as was witnessed by his half fit dismantling of England but the rest - the diving, the feigning of injury, the racist taunts etc. are just beyond defending.

He wasn't banned for International games during his 10 match ban for us, so don't get why he should be banned for us when he does the same in International games.

If it were to happen, I'd think the Liverpool lawyers would be right on the case to appeal

 

Maradona is remembered for both. But don't forget both those mentioned won the world cup. Suarez has done relatively little. Hence, he will be remembered as serial biter. Unless of course his goals win Uruguay the WC.

Diving, cheating, biting and racial comments are all his own fault. Lets see how close to the bone you get here though...

As you well know, football is different now to Shank's day. Footballing principles are long gone.

 

Is it possible we can keep the Suarez comments to the Suarez thread and keep this one just for the football?

 

Go back and read the first 5 or 6 pages. Everyone was condemning him quite harshly when it happened- and there you were in the middle of it all claiming that Liverpool fans were all defending him... your comment looked more than a little absurd and out of place. People continued to condemn him- and you continued to make silly accusations about everyone defending him.

The humour all came later as everyone cooled down. No use repeating the same comdemnation over and over again. It's been said over and over again- what he did is wrong. Do we all need to beat the dead horse and make the same statement a dozen times... that serves absolutely zero purpose.

But all that said, it wasn't really Suarez's fault. Chili-con-cani had it coming!
