We are the most incarcerated nation on the planet thats why. It costs 50,000 a year to house someone in prison. 5 million people are currently in jail and another 2 million are out but supervised. Sending someone to prison for 8 years for possession of drugs is beyond stupid. Which is what her uncle that is currently in prison is in for. The vast majority of our prisoners are incarcerated for non violent drug offenses.
I agree Macca it sure LOOKS LIKE he bite him. But I'm sure they will need more then LOOKS LIKE HE DID. Before dishing out a big ban. Anyway...I don't like him or any Liverpool players I best go back to fence painting or woman might appear to slap my head for looking like I'm being a lazy git
I agree that putting people in prison for victimless crimes like drug offences is stupid, surely after the first four felonies they would be more wary of the authorities though.
FIFA could ban him from professional football in the same way Lance Armstrong was banned from professional cycling. If Liverpool had any balls they would discipline him themselves.
Probably best to talk about it in a private message or another thread. The US unlike other countries has almost no mental health facilities or forced drug rehabilitation. That means that even people who went to jail for violent crimes and were not addicts do tend to become addicts. Stats show that almost 80% of our prisoners have mental health issues. In a normal country they would be diverted for treatment. Here they are locked up, and anyone who has been to jail or prison will tell you its easier to get drugs in prison than out of prison. Its basically a cyclical system where it is really hard to ever get out of it. Her uncles in particular saw combat in Vietnam. There was no treatment for PTSD back then and they self medicated with drugs. Petty crimes to pay for it and charges for possession mean that they have spent all but a few years of their adult lives in prison and they have never committed a violent act. One is out right now, the other got 8 years for possession of heroin. He has already told people that it is his intent to get arrested upon release so that he can go back to jail to be with his friends. Its the only life either of them have known.
Sounds good. This liverpool thread on Suarez seems to be indicating that he can not be banned in England for an act committed at the World Cup. http://forums.liverpoolfc.com/threads/359442-Suarez-bites-again!!/page10
I don't think the FA have the power to ban him for this incident, I'm not sure though. Liverpool can enforce a ban because Suarez is their employee, it's a similar situation to the one involving the racist Everton fan. The corrupt bureaucratic institution that is FIFA will probably ban him from the World Cup but nothing more, it's up to Liverpool to exorcise this ****er from the Premier League.
If only one of the Italians had had the temperament of Reno Gattuso. Suarez should've been sparked out.
