Can't be sure, but it just seemed a logical choice for Cahill to go for the better offer, which was Everton.

Curbs was in China when Cahill was at The Valley with his agent... Murray had agreed terms with Millwall, but didn't lock it... Curbs said they learned a lesson that summer, that if you have a player you really want, you need to nail down a deal, otherwise it leaves the door open for another club to step in, and that's what happened...
