But Upson is our 4th choice Centre half and he'll on peanuts in comparison <ok>

What are you paying Rio? 100? 150?

You seem a little bit obsessed with the running of our club Andy.......It's becoming slightly disturbing and somewhat worrying.

If you need help I can put you in touch with a good shrink.......the first step is to admit you have a problem.

After being cut loose by Manchester United at the end of the season, Rio Ferdinand is now understood to be on the very cusp of agreeing a deal to join newly-promoted QPR, a move that will see the defender re-united with his first professional manager, Harry Redknapp.

According to the Telegraph (as well as every single other newspaper and news outlet in the country), Ferdinand is expected to formally agree a deal at Loftus Road at some point today which will see the 35-year-old centre-half take a “massive” pay-cut to move to Loftus Road with the contract reportedly worth somewhere around the £65,000-a-week mark.

Seeing as though Rio was raking in somewhere around £200,000-a-week at United, we’re fairly sure he’ll still be able to scrape by despite only earning a piddling third of what he was on at Old Trafford.

I worry about the state of English football.

How can clubs with an 18k stadium afford 100k per week wages for people they don't play.

That (undeserved) Zamora goal saved you, big time.

Much less than that, its reported he's taking a massive wage cut to join.

I've added this Andy Leicester fan fellow to my ignore list, which means he won't show up for me again. I suggest you all do the same, if you like.

Go to his profile and the option is easy to find there.

We've just made an offer for caulker, add in Rio and Ned and we just need to dump Dunne and get another young CB in and things are looking much better.

We don't need to do everything in this transfer window, though. I think it would be wise not to. For example, if we have Caulker then, as you say, he will fit in nicely with Ned, Rio and Hill. I'd keep Dunne for one more season but use him more sparingly.

But if we go too crazy and try to buy all our signing for 'the future' we'll use all our options up and be back to square one, stuck in a hole. We've got another window in the first season to make necessary changes and then if we stay up we'll feel even more settled in the league and can make even more signings from there on.

There has to be a balance between trying to buy all the best players for our level and waiting to see if we can find better later on. We don't want to be stuck with loads of players on the wage bill and wanting even more additions later on.

We have Donaldson (but thought we had offered Dunne another year, and Clint....but I think there is more to Clints offer than just the playing side)

Looking on the brightside...getting Rio means Cole will not come within a 100 miles of our club!

Are you sure it isn't just a newspaper misprint?

    Surely it should have said:

"Rio claims to be male confirmed in next 24 hours".

I'd prefer Dunne to Ferdinand any day. The thought of seeing Ferdinand in a QPR jersey makes me feel like getting:emoticon-0119-puke:

I think a lot of people are missing the boat on this one

Ferdinand is looking to play football, that's a good thing, someone who wants games for the right reasons whilst taking a significant pay cut.

Secondly his stature in English football shouldn't be overlooked. He's well connected in the game and I'm sure he's a good avenue to persuade some good young English talent to join QPR.

I believe as a Senior member of the squad he's got some current and relevant ideas about how to play and improve our set up. He's certainly expressed these concerning England.

On a year's deal I believe it's good business. Onouha will develop as a CB alongside him and his experience will be valuable.

The guy is a plank FFS and an arrogant one at that. Remember he is from the same gene pool as Anton.

Trouble is the way it's going, all these senior players with stature will only be able to pass on their experience to each other, as there won't be room for any youngbloods in the Squad in need of all these senior stature development courses. I suppose Arry will be appy having all the these old farts around to enjoy these mutual masturbation sessions with, but I wonder who will be left lively enough to go fetch the buscuits, let alone run into the other side's box.

    Thoughts please ...............

Personally if we get a full season out of him and he is instrumental in keeping us up then – maybe worth the wages…..
    But can't see that happening............

Way too much, it should be half that, 15k per app. and 15k clean sheet bonus.

According to Football Manager, which tends to be quite accurate surprisingly, he's on about £20k
